tek2way: (Me - In Real Life)
..I got delisted today by someone. Oh well. I'll live. We never commented in each other's journals, anyway.

Ironically enough, I had someone who I used to have on my list nearly a year ago show back up. Welcome back, J. You should reread the last two months of my posts. There are some doozies in there. I've been a busy, pseudo-social sonuvabiatch. :)

Work was.. work.I had a generally good day. No real problems. At least, nothing that upset me. I mean, things flowed smoothly all around. For that, I'm thankful. Oh, and the new checker is QUITE a cutie. Of course, she's around 8 years my junior, so eye-candy she stays. (Age isn't a number...until you're talking to her dad. *wink*)

I'm on Day 16, and I feel really good about reading this. I can NOT tell you how good I'm feeling now, and I feel I have this book to thank for my new mindset. Granted, I have some questions that have popped up in my mind, but I'm going to withhold them until I finish Day 40. I've had that happen once already while reading the book. I'll have a question, and not two or three days later, I had my question answered. Great stuff, let me tell you. (My biggest problem so far is the mention of evangelism. I don't believe that ANYONE should get in folks's faces about things, especially religion.)
I also came home to discover that MAJOR drama occurred on the forums today. Apparently, [livejournal.com profile] lordreaibn, the forum admin (and site host for them), has decided to break our forums off from his main site, and lock it behind a user/pass. *shrugs* I don't care, because I just enter the info into IE (which I use for those forums, because FireFox won't save my log-in info), and have that info auto-saved. It's not "sensitive," because he's said to give that info to anyone who wants to join. I've heard that he doesn't want minors accidentally finding the site. Honestly, this is not a bad idea, since we get rather.. uh.. filthy with our language. Not everywhere, but in enough places. Still, though, some folks got upset, and haven't been back. I'm staying neutral in this matter. I joined the forums to talk to my friends, and to them I'll continue to talk, be it on the forums or in MSN/AIM. They're his forums, so he can do what he likes with them. If he feels it's for the best, then I support him. I should do so, because he is my friend.

Aside from that, I learned that Races of Eberron is not what I thought it was. For those RPG geeks out there, you know that Races of Faerun was an awesome product. It's easily one of the best Forgotten Realms items released. Sadly, Races of Eberron is actually approached from the design standpoint of the other "Races of.." books, like Races of Stone or Races of Destiny, even down to the Races-style cover instead of the Eberron-style cover. I hate the "Races" series of books. Fortunately, James Wyatt posted later that the info originally in the blurb is still there, but my faith in the product has been shaken just enough for me to cancel my preorder. C'est la vie, non?

I'm going to go to bed listening to all of the Evanescence I have. I tried to re-download the "radio" version of "My Immortal" last night, but apparently, between Firefox and Norton Internet Security, Windows Media Player cannot obtain a license, so I cannot burn it to CD. If anyone has an mp3 version of this track (wth the guitars getting added at the end), would you please hook a brotha up? I have both CDs they've released, and I like supporting musicians I really like. (Tori Amos is SOOOO getting a bunch of money from me in February -- in addition to her new CD, she's releasing a book, too. Yay!)

Anyway, time to go reread Day 16, and continue my journey with American Gods. Talk to everyone tomorrow, or so.
