Today was okay. It wasn't QUITE as nice as yesterday, in terms of stuff to do. I felt like I was wasting time today, because all I was supposed to do was learn about the reports, with no other instructions. I decided to begin cross-referencing the various reports, to get a better idea of what was being cataloged. Sure enough, I figured out something that even the Zone Manager wasn't aware of. Go me.

I finished reading Ilium today. That book was absolutely amazing. The way the three disparate stories got interlaced was startlingly refreshing. Oh, I saw it coming, but it wasn't a "telegraphed" notice. It was much more subtle than that, at least to me. As I've said, if you like sci-fi, then give it a read. I can't wait for the sequel, Olympos, to come out later this year. In case you're worried, don't be. It's neither cliffhanger nor plodding uber-series. It's a self-contained story that is open-ended enough to handle a sequel to "finish" the story. Dan Simmons, from what I've seen of his other works, does duologies, not trilogies or Jordan-esque uber-series. Heh, besides, there's not much left to describe. :)

I read Day 15 today. It's odd that The Purpose Driven Life is progressing so quickly, yet it's paced just right. I suppose that the fact that I read each entry twice doesn't hurt. :) I did the math, and I'll finish my 40th day on the Sunday that I was supposed to be heading to NJ. My apologies if I've already said that.

Now, I'm going to reread Day 15, say good night to a few of you, and settle in with my new book, Neil Gaiman's American Gods. Shut up. I know it's been out for three and a half years. For some dumb reason, I've never quite gotten around to reading it. This is sad, because I absolutely LOVE reading Neil Gaiman's work. To put things in perspective, it's a First Edition, even. *rolls eyes* I just suck, and I- wait! That's it! I put it down, because I began reading a series of novels about a certain wizard-in-training, who happens to have a scar on his forehead. :) (Sad, though, that I didn't pick it back up. I've RE-read Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix already, and it came out two years after American Gods.)

Oh well, I'm going to stop rambling now. BTW: Thanks to those who participated in that meme I posted. I know it was putting you on the spot, and I am sorry to those who felt uncomfortable about it. Oh, and Scott? It was really weird seeing a DUDE answer those questions, even if you DID say no!

Good night, folks. Here are the lyrics to the song I'm currently playing:
