*Gasp* Oh man.. was that great!!!

Wow. That's all I can say. Unreal Tournament 2004 is gonna rock. I just downloaded the demo, and MAN! did it hit. It was fast-paced (moreso than the original), the music was heavy-metal-eque in a Rob Zombie kind of way, and the weapons were awesome. Oh, and it looked sweeter than a candy store. :)

I thought I was done with gaming, really. UT2004, though, is changing my mind. Let's not forget DooM3 on the horizon, either. For THAT one, though, I'm going to have to do an upgrade to this machine. Fortunately, my motherboard can accept CPUs up to 1.9 or better GHz. First on the list, though: video card.  Second: monitor. (Good thing they're cheap.)

Any suggestions on the video card? I am not worried about having the latest and greatest, but want something respectable.

Another &%#$& day at work..

Yeah.. work sucked. I hate it. I had to do the schedule this week, because my CSM is taking a vacation. The thing is, she wasn't originally taking one, and so I wasn't scheduled to do the schedule. What this means is that I had to do it in between the breaks and lunches that I let out. *sigh* Things were exacerbated when I thought I had finished, and thought it was well-done, but my manager THEN told me that one of the employees was gone, and another one that he told me to give hours to he wound up taking back for dairy. Shit!

Still, I managed it, barely, and I'm no where near as happy with it as I was originally. Oh well, c'est la vie. (Or should I say "C'est la morte" since we're gonna get our butts handed to us next week because the schedule sucks now?)

On the way home, I made a stupid mistake: I took the highway home. Yeah, this is what I almost always do, and it would normally be a good idea, since it turns a 40-minute cross-city trip into a 20-25 minute speed fest. That wasn't happening today, though. Instead, I ran into a wall of automobiles. That is to say, highway construction. The only thing that was good about the whole stupid thing was that they apparently finished before I got off work, and the congestion was simply traffic not righting itself yet. However, with it approaching rush hour, I'd be stupid to think that it would straighten out before dark.

In other news, I'm (somewhat) rapidly approaching my 1000th post. It's hard to believe that I've had that much to whine about in the last year and a half, but I guess I do. I've always meant to go back and edit/delete old entires that have nothing to them, such as quiz posts. You'll notice that I no longer post them. Oh, I take them, but I never post 'em. But I digress..

Anyway, I'm giving some thought to my layout, and more specifcally, to my iconset. While I have the ability to have up to 50 icons available, I'm tired of what I have, and need to create icons that reflect my interests as they are now. That is going to be quite a task. Still, if I can manage one new icon per post between now and Post 1000™, I'll have it.

Oh well, time to begin looking and designing...

EDIT: Oh yeah, it looks like I've weaned myself off being weaned off LJ. :)
