Well, it seems that we've FINALLY gotten a checklist that's pretty much 100% confirmed regarding the next expansion for the D&D minis game. There are some interesting ones in this, and there are a few I couldn't care less about. I wish there were more dragons, but that's me. :)
It seems that, according to the WotC retailer catalog, that the set due after Archfiends will be "Giants of Legend", and include something called "Huge Packs". Who wants to bet the huge packs are similar to Mage Knight's big minis that are sold separately?
Aside from that, we'll also see Star Wars minis in the same vein as the D&D minis game, so that should make things exciting for those intending to run/play Star Wars d20.
( Dragoneye Spoiler List )
As for regular D&D stuff, the list looks interesting, too:
HardCovers:
Dungeons and Dragons:Planar Handbook - Price:$29.95
- Looks like it could be interesting, IF they include new information instead of just rehashing the Manual of the Planes.
Dungeons and Dragons:Complete Divine - Price:$29.95
- If this surprised you, raise your hand, and let me hit you! :) Seriously, I can see a need for this book, as well as a "Complete Arcane" type book, but it will get unnecessarily silly after that.
Dungeons and Dragons:Forgotten Realms: Serpent Kingdoms - Price:$29.95
- *shrug* It's Forgotten Realms. I doubt I'm going to care.
Dungeons and Dragons:Races of Stone - Price:$29.95
- Yay. A Dwarf and Gnome splatbook. Do we really need these?
Dungeons and Dragons:Eberron Campaign Setting - Price:$39.95
- Okay, I'm looking forward to this. I liked the preview back in August, and I don't see myself losing interest yet.
Star Wars Ultimate Adversaries - Price:$29.95
- Big book of foes. NPC bad guys. That could be useful, *IF* I ran Star Wars. I wonder if there are rules in it for neutering the powerful ones?
d20 Modern d20 Future - Price:$34.95
- This looks interesting, and might be what d20 Modern needs to "save" itself in my eyes. At the point I'm at now, I probably will never play d20 Modern.
Dungeons and Dragons:Map Folio II - Price:$9.95
- More maps is always good, and these are cheap, too.
Dungeons and Dragons:Dice - Price:$9.99
- Supposedly, this will be a set of dice, AND a nifty velvet dice bag to go with it. I'd have to see it first.
Okay, I'm going back to bed now. I knew I shouldn't have checked my E-mail *OR* LiveJournal when I woke up. *sigh*
EDIT: I knew something was missing from that. Here they are:
D&D Basic Set coming in fall
- If this is anything like the old D&D boxed sets, then I'll probably snag one, just for fun.
Thirty Years of Adventure: A Celebration of D&D coming in fall
- From what I've seen about this online, I'm terribly interested in a book that isn't game-related. (It's supposedly just a look back at the past thirty years, and includes interview with famous people who have played D&D and such. *yawn*
