Let's see. I was going to do a nice long post about today. I think. Here's the short of if, since that's all I can manage.
I got to work, and the morning checker ran 30 minutes late. No worries.
Later, I saw that the same checker had a 20% discount booklet. I began to wonder. (You'd have to have spent over $1000 in a MONTH to get that kind of discount.) I checked, and sure enough, she used her card for customers. (We're not allowed to do this, since all you have to do is get one for yourself, and you can put whatever you like for the information. I once had "Magnum, P.I., Honolulu, HI" get a card at my store.)
That afternoon, I was talking to Joyce in the back about that checker, when Jennifer came back there, and said that she caught that checker working on a training register. The checker claimed that she was "playing around". I stopped Jennifer when she told us that the checker had gift cards in her hand. Joyce almost ran out there, and sure enough, the checker had "accidently" activated one for $300. When we checked things out, she apparently wasn't using a training number, but ANOTHER CHECKER'S NUMBER.
At this point, Joyce decided that the checker was gone. One call to the manager, and that was the case. I quickly counted her pan down, but it was fine.
*shakes head* Some people...
Oh yeah, also at work today, I helped a customer, and she said, "Because you're always so nice to me, I thought I would give you one of these, if you're interested." What was this item, you may ask? *EVIL GRIN*
It was a certificate for 20% off the total order at a Davis-Kidd bookstore this Saturday and Sunday. :) Oh, yeah, I know where I'm going to be this weekend. :) And just in time for my Thanksgiving Day check. (Tetris MIGHT have to wait a week or two.)
I came home, and, along with Aron and a volunteered-like-in-the-army Adam, we bagged over 20 bags of leaves from our backyard alone. I want to note that my mom keeps the leaves raked, and this was the accumulation of only two weeks. Now, I'm beat, and about to fall asleep. It's time for bed, and my post wasn't so short after all.
