Can't find the "pause" button for the day...

I need to go to sleep earlier. As it is, I'm getting a little less than 6 hours a night, which sounds fine, but I need to get more. Of course, I chant this mantra every time I wake up sleepy. I always promise that I'm going to do better.

Yeah, right.

Still, I work 6a-3p today, and I have to work in Guest Care until 12pm, so I think I'm going to have NO trouble getting sleep tonight. (Yeah, right.)

Another quickie, because I feel like it..

While I'm working in Guest Care today, I'm going to keep my small spiral notebook with me. Hopefully, I'll have time to work out some details about another backstory idea. Heck, I just remembered that I'm going to be starting a message board game soon, and need to come up with a character for that, too.

So, on today's agenda, I will:

• Work my butt off in Guest Care


• Wish I was still asleep


• Plan out a character to play


• Work on ideas for another backstory NOT related to the character above


• Get some sleep tonight

Ouch!!

I have a headache. It hurts badly. I've taken some Aleve for it, but I can safely say that it's almost certainly related to my lack of sleep. Therefore, I'm crashing early tongiht.

I had an okay day at work. It went more smoothly than yesterday, but I think it's interesting that Joyce was there, so Dana behaved.

I halfway came up with an idea for a character. I'm going to do either Human, Elf, Half-Elf, or Dwarf, and I'm going to play Barbarian, Fighter, Ranger, Druid, or Sorcerer. I just have to narrow it down from there.

Finally, I didn't get to do a background. However, I came up with a campaign idea that I really like, so I'm going to begin developing it. One thing I can say right now: We ain't startin' at 1st level! I'm not going to force the first few levels EVER again. If it don't work, then we skip it. I may ask for a detailed background before anyone creates their characters, and award XP based on the background. That could be neat. I'll plot that out.

Wonderment! I feel better...

My headache went away. Forget Tylenol, Aleve is the wonder drug. :)

Seriously, I guess I'm only getting a reprieve. I'm eating dinner now, and I'm soon to bed. I went outside while nuking dinner, and saw that the sky had cleared off.

I quickly ran inside, grabbed my binoculars, Alex's telescope, and set up in the driveway. Within minutes, I had the first quarter moon in my view. Wow. Binoculars are nice, but a telescope is absolutely breathtaking. The detail is just amazing. Consequently, this is the time of the month that viewing the moon is best. When it's at a quarter, the craters and such cast good shadows, throwing everything into sharp relief.

I put up the telescope, but kept peeking out, and got the chance to naked-eye observe several more things. I identified a bunch of constellations by sight alone, since my book was inside. I found several of my usual stars. One of my neighbors, Peter, came over, and we started talking about stars, and he asked about one that had me inside getting my book almost instantly. The star? Antares in Scorpius. Yay! I found a new one that I should be able to identify on sight now.

At the rate I'm going, I'll have one rank of Knowledge (Astronomy) before the month is out. (A little gamer humor there for you.)

Well, now that I've posted about my new star, and the vivid beauty of the moon, I'm going to bed. Whew! The time has caught up with me.
