I finished The Dragon's Dagger today. I've already begun Dragonslayer's Return, the third and final volume in R.A. Salvatore's "Spearwielder's Tale" trilogy. So far, I have been impressed above and beyond what I have come to expect from Salvatore, and fantasy in general.
Still around is the core group of characters. These are: Mickey McMickey, a leprechaun; Kelsey, an elf; Geno, a dwarf; and Gary, a human from modern day America. In Dragon's Dagger, Gary begins to understand what it means to be part of something bigger than you are. All in all, a VERY enjoyable book. One thing I like about these books is that each one could be read invidually. Granted, you'll spoil eariler volumes if you read them out of order, but it's nice to see a book series that doesn't require you to have read 10000 pages of backstory to get what is going on. (*cough cough* Robert Jordan *cough cough*) Simply put, sometimes it's nice to finish a book, and realize that you're technically done. It's just as nice to pick up a book, and understand that things you may not know will be explained.
We didn't game tonight. Instead, we sat around, joked, and worked on the characters we'll be playing. I realized tonight that I am an incorrigible archer snob. I built a twinked out elven character whose weapon is the Composite Longbow. By level 25, I have ( cut here for the sake of the non gamers )
I'm so glad that I got through work today. For some reason, I have been unable to get rest between shifts. I literally dozed off twice on the way home from work today. Sheesh. That's not going to work. I've got some laundry running now, and I'm going to bed as soon as it finishes.
Speaking of finishes, I am about to pass out completely. I better go check on my clothes. Good night, all.
