So, I worked 2p-10p yesterday. It went pretty smoothly, over all, though I was getting a little frazzled around 4p, when I was faced with having *one* bagger for two hours of time. The zone manager didn't know, and gave me like three different things to fix right together, and I got quite exasperated. Fortunately, he didn't see, and I just got to mopping the dirty spot in the highest-traffic section of the front end's floor, hoping I could get it clean. Would you know I did? It's a shame that I didn't have time to go over the entire bad area, just the worst section.

strieson and I submitted our applications to an apartment complex, and we've passed the background/credit check, so we're just waiting on word from the company on when we can move in, I think. People keep telling me that the hard part is over, but I reply that, until I have a signed lease and a move-in date, I'm going to be a bundle of nerves. We've been told that we should be able to move in around the 10th or 15th. I sincerely hope that is the case, since now that I'm going to be moving, I want to get on with it. :) (Well, that and the fact that I'm planning on buying several new bookcases, as I've said, and I REALLY wanna see all of my books out where people can see them!)
Also, and don't tell anyone else, but I'm excited about the idea of decorating the place. Mind you, I don't quite mean a vase of fake flowers on the TV, but just getting settled, and getting those things that need to be bought, bought. That said, I *have* had a discussion with
strieson about our decorating scheme:
Me: "So, yeah, about the decorating scheme. I don't think we should have Britney Spears posters in the living room."
Strieson: "That wasn't me. Those were [
mfsfreak]'s."
Me: "Well, still, we're both a little too old to make it look like a bachelor pad, even if it IS a bachelor pad."
Strieson (with a slight grin): "But what about my Spice Girls posters?"
Me (thinking of the 2BR, 2BA place we were aiming for at the time): "There's always the ceiling of your bathroom."
Both: *laugh quite heartily*
Sadly, or perhaps not so, we are NOT getting a 2BR, 2BA place. The way I see it, the 2BR, 1BA place is the most economical for the space you get to live. There were three different 2BR places: 980 ft2 with 2 BA for $625, 968 ft2 with 2 BA $610, and 968 ft2 with 1 BA for $590. First, $15 extra for 12 extra square feet is NOT worth it. Out goes the 980 place. Second, with the other two, one is missing one bathroom, yet they have the same floor space. What does this mean? Simple: that the 1 bathroom place has more floorspace for entertaining and living aside from sitting on the can or showering. :)
Having a patio makes me happy, too. The location isn't bad, either (Raleigh LaGrange, just off Covington Pike), and it gets us closer to the game on Sunday, and many of my friends, too.

I'm awake right now, because I'm an idiot. I was up since 730a yesterday, doing errands for the apartment and then working, yet I woke up at 5a, and felt this urge to hop on WoW and start that paladin that I found myself interested in. Yes, I'm rolling a human paladin. Yes, it's Alliance. Yes, I think you'll live. :) In a way, I *need* to roll it, since that was the first class I did when I started playing WoW, and I always liked it (PLUS.. and this is the cool bit.. I'm used to being a healer since I have a druid!).

Today is election day, at least for municipal elections, and I'd like to try to get out there and vote, since it is my privilege and right as a law-abiding citizen, but I've only heard the mud-slinging stuff about a few folks, and am really kind of uninformed. Perhaps the paper will have some information on the candidates?
Oh well, enough time to worry about that later. With the heat advisory, I ain't going outside unless I have to (even though I was looking forward to a trip to Shelby Forest with Allison today -- we're still going, but I don't think we're getting out of the car now :) ) I think I'm going to hop back in bed for a bit more.
Good morning, folks. :)
