Saturday off

Today was one of my days off this week. It was rather odd, in a way, too.

I slept until around 9am, when I woke feeling guilty, because I'd talked with C about getting up earlier to start doing some chores around the house. I soon discovered that he was asleep still, too. Huzzah! I hopped on World of Warcraft to check in on things and say hello. Ironically, he was up before I'd done anything in-game. So much for playing today, eh? :)

We had breakfast, and finished watching Earthsea while waiting on his ex to show up to get her dog before leaving Memphis (forever? *shrug*). No sign by noon, so we got to cleaning. Personally, I cleaned the kitchen (superficially, since I'd done a heavy duty, spring cleaning level clean the other day), dusted in the living room, made my bed and picked up my room, and cleaned the bathroom. C worked on his bathroom and bedroom, and did a water change on the fish tank in the living room. Meanwhile, strieson was fighting a losing battle against the vacuum cleaner (I don't think he ever won, either, but he managed to coax it to work long enough to get the carpet reasonably clean).

Afterward, I started a load of laundry, and C and I went to Lowe's to get some things to fix stuff up around the house. We got a new door closer for the front screen door (odd they're called screen doors, when they're mostly glass), a new bi-fold door for the laundry closet, an air filter for the central air, a new shower head for my bathroom, and some cleaner for the garbage disposal. When we got back, C's ex came by to get her dog, and we were kinda sad for a while. Heck, *I* began to think about getting a dog, so that Foxy (C's dog) has a playmate. With two cats and two dogs (one belongs to strieson, and stays in his room), it seems it'd get kinda crowded with another, but we were managing just fine with Angel around.

Anyway, the shower head was "defective" *wink*, and while C and strieson took it back for an exchange, I repaired the front door, and almost had the bi-fold door changed by the time they returned. C replaced the sprayer on the kitchen sink (another thing that was in need of replacement), and we finally declared ourselves done for the day. Grabbing some KFC, we watched Brothers Grimm. Funny movie, to be sure.

Now, I'm going to bed, sure to not get quite enough sleep, and I have work in the morning, as usual. The only thing that could top this day would be to have someone to help me sleep. *nodnod* Ah, well, maybe another time. At the very least, though, I feel like I really got some things accomplished today. :)
