...until I have my surgery for my hernia on March 31. I've got to call my insurance, and get approval (it's technically elective.. ain't that BS?), and then go to the hospital the week before for some standard prep work.
I'm excited, and a little apprehensive. I mean, I've not had surgery since I was, like, four years old or something, and had my tonsils out. I'm staying calm by reminding myself that when it's done, I'll be in better shape than I've been in a long time, and -- with a doctor's guidance -- I can begin exercising and eating right(er, as my eating habits over here have improved tenfold over the apartment).
Tonight was good stuff, too. I pan-fried and chopped up two boneless, skinless chicken breasts (seasoned with thyme, rosemary, and a little each of onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper). I prepared some rice and two packets of standard chicken gravy, and mixed it all up when it was done. I made some green beans (seasoned with some Cavendar's Greek Seasoning) and carrots (seasoned with orange blossom honey -- yes, it does taste different than standard honey). I topped the meal off with a fresh jug of sweet (Splenda) tea and some rolls (toasted in the oven with some butter to melt on top). Mmm mmm, was it good! :)
C and I began watching my DVD of Sci-Fi network's "Earthsea" mini-series, and it's spurred me to begin rereading* Le Guin's "A Wizard of Earthsea" trilogy... as soon as I finish Kristen Britain's The High King's Tomb, book three in her "Green Rider" series. I had him stop for the night, though, so I could settle down and get to bed at a reasonable hour. :) (Yet here I am, posting on LJ.)
Well, I have another 6a-3p tomorrow, and then I'm off on Saturday. I imagine that I'll call my insurance tomorrow, and I need to check my bank account before going into work, so I know that I'm clear on taking my utility bill (from my Bartlett address) so that I can get my tags (last time I checked, you had to have proof you didn't live inside Memphis in order to avoid the inspection requirement on car tags).
Also, I need to address both my upcoming surgery (again) with my manager and CSM, as well as bring up the fact that I was brought over as a backup, yet I'm not receiving the pay (at my old store, it wasn't an issue, because we did such little business, but since my new store cleared $1 million last week, I *think* I'm supposed to be getting it now :) ).
That's all for me for now, folks. And look, not a mention of World of Warcraft or D&D..... oops. Hehe, well, maybe next time. :)
