I finally got off work, and came home. I have relaxed for about thirty minutes. It's been raining all day, so I'd hoped that going to "help" C today would consist of hanging out, talking. Instead, I learned that they're actually doing some moving, so when I get there, I get to move stuff. Joy. :-p (I just don't have the motivation for it today. Being tired and it being rainy makes things all poopy, too. I want a good book, a window, an easy chair, and some herbal tea!)

To add to my grumpiness, C called back and asked me to get a couple of newspapers on my way over.

I guess it's just simply that if they weren't moving, then his wife would be gone, and all would be cool. If they were moving, I'd probably have to deal with people I don't know, and that doesn't appeal to me today. The reality is worse, IMO. They're moving, but it's just the two of them. I'd be wheel number 3. *shudder* I so don't want to go into that alone. (As may be obvious, yes, I'm siding with my buddy C. I don't care for what precipitated the divorce (since it hurt my friend of 14 years), and don't care to be around her as a result. Sorry, that's just how life is.

Well, first of all, it wasn't as tense as I thought, though I did get a little uncomfortable at one exchange between them. We finished the moving of stuff, and C and I grabbed some Totino's pizza and watched Prisoner of Azkaban. It was good. I dozed a couple of times, talked to C about the plans I have in mind for myself, and measured my new room so that I can figure out how to jam it* all in there. :)

In case I've not mentioned it (and as frequently as I update, I may not have. :) ), [livejournal.com profile] strieson and I are going to move into C's place as roommates for him, since he needs someone to help pay bills. It's in Bartlett, and in a nice neighborhood, too (not high end, but it's a nice quiet place). [livejournal.com profile] strieson's dog, Gizzy (Gizzie?) will have a backyard to run around in to her heart's content, and I'm developing a deep affection for one of the cats there, named Rajah (it's a female, and when [livejournal.com profile] strieson and I were asked, we came up with Nala, the female lion from Lion King). Rajah is a sweetheart, though, and I realize I've missed having a cat around. :)

We should be able to begin moving stuff in Sunday evening, though I may wait to do any serious moving until after my birthday on Monday. Still, a move is a prime opportunity to do that weeding of my material possessions I was talking about. What I want, goes immediately, and what I don't, stays here until the last minute. C suggested that, since my hobbies wax and wane, I not be too quick to unload what I currently don't want, but I feel like this is the right course. That said, perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to box 'em up, and toss 'em into the attic for a month or two, to see how much I don't want 'em.

Anyway, I have work again in the morning, and payroll promises to be fun on a metal folding chair (the plush office chairs have disappeared... shouldn't be surprised). I'm not sure what I'm doing after that, but time will tell.

* - A bunch of furniture. I think that I'm going to wind up losing something, and storing some other stuff.
