So where the hell did the heat come from? I was QUITE HAPPY with the "highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s" weather.
That said, I got up this morning for more work action, and managed to do my exercises, though I compromised and did only 5 sit-ups (but did 15 jumping jacks to balance it out). My back wasn't hurting like it did, and strangely, after my exercises, my abs didn't hurt as badly either.
I ran late to work this morning, but I had overtime from earlier this week, so that balanced out. Lunch at Fazoli's was disappointing, because the Chicken and Pasta Caesar Salad is more or less a pasta salad (which I find nauseating) tossed with a Caesar salad. I ate part of it, eating the leaves and meat, but I drew the line at the pasta. I did try it, and the taste might have worked by itself, but the combination was not good. I felt okay, though, and since I figured I'd get an apple during my last break, I'd be fine. We were busy enough that I never got a last break. :(
Oh! I don't know WHY, but for some reason, I felt "thinner" today. I can't explain it, but it was as if I could tell that I wasn't carrying around as much weight. I don't know how much of it was in my mind, but it was a rather pleasant feeling. :)
After work, I did do some shopping, and managed to get out of there without buying any ground beef, chips, cookies, cakes, or frozen dinners (if you don't count the fish sticks and fish fillets). I got some fresh fruit, and decided to give bananas another try to go with my apples. I have water, too, so I should be walking sometime real soon (I'm off on Monday and Tuesday next week, so perhaps one of those days..).
Coming home, though, I discovered something rather displeasing. Our AC had gone out again. It's currently 80 degrees in here, and while I have a fan to alleviate some of the heat, the lack of screens on the windows and patio door make it impossible to open the place up to air it out. We'll survive until they get out here, I guess. At least it's not like it was in August, with 100 degree highs and lows in the upper 80s.
I played a bunch of Guitar Hero II this afternoon, beginning the medium difficulty. This game is fun, and my favorite part is that it gets me out of my room, so I can socialize some. My left forearm (that arm keys the frets) is getting its down workout. I feel each muscle in it right now. :) I also swung by Comic Cellar, and picked up the first issue of Pathfinder, which I'd preordered last week. I like the way it looks enough that I'm seriously thinking about starting a 3.5e game on Thursday nights to run it. I'm not 100% sure, though. Time will tell. :)
Now, I'm going to go to bed, and curl up with The Subtle Knife, which is a fantastic sequel to The Golden Compass (coming out this Christmas as a movie). Good night. :)
