Wow, a Monday morning post, and immediately following one from last night. Scary! :)
Yesterday was pretty cool, for the most part. Work was not bad, until I clocked out. That's when my manager asked me why we were so short for the week. Well, I would love to have given him a rundown, but since I had two applications that I had to process, I didn't have time to research our cash shortage. So, I stood there in Kroger, talking on my cell phone to my CSM, trying to puzzle it out. Lemme just say that I almost got a headache from that before I finally left. Fortunately, my CSM is going to research the shortage.
INTERJECTION: I just called her to remind her that the manager wants more baggers scheduled this week, and she told me that one of our baggers died yesterday. The guy was about ten years younger than me, to the day, and was just beginning to really show some promise at work. Man, talk about going numb.. I mean, there wasn't anything wrong with him. She told me that it was a heart attack (at 19!), but that they are going to be doing an autopsy.
After work yesterday, though, I came home, and both of my parents were fit to be tied. My mom was mad at my dad, because of the problems with his truck, and was being loud about it. My dad was mad because he was geting frustrated that he couldn't get it fixed (we'd spent about three hours replacing the fuel pump on Saturday), and was going off about "if I could, I'd just push it in a ditch and leave it!" Needless to say, I got my eating done ASAP, and headed to the Sunday game. (Not before I got the rotor button off of the distributor for my dad. He'd been beside himself, because he couldn't get it off, and had even gotten kinda nasty to me, but I went outside anyway to see if I could. Seeing how the new one was made, I saw what I had to do, and it worked. I was glad that I did, because it made me feel less guilty about leaving.)
The game wasn't bad, though we TECHNICALLY didn't do anything (we just passed time while events we'd set in motion in prior weeks occurred). After it was over, we owed the company we were running against a favor, and the decker had had his datajack plugged. The other sam nearly died, but was okay, and a mysterious figure had shadowed us in the jungle, but never made contact. I'm looking forward to the next session again, now. :)
Oh yeah, and Allison brought us some goodies that she'd made for various Christmas parties and such. Poppycock, chocolate-covered pretzels, Chex Mix, and turtles. Oh my god, they were so good. I think that I thanked her at least five times yesterday. :)
Anyway, today is laundry day, and I have the house to myself for now, since my folks have gone to the store to do the shopping that they weren't able to do all weekend. Lemme blare my iTunes for a while, and enjoy being off (after sleeping for 10.5 hours!).
