I am such a whore. I am horrible. No matter how badly I slam Robert Jordan for his insanely-overinflated ego, and swear to never buy his books again, all it takes is the knowledge that a new volume is out, and I go running to the book store. I even did this with New Spring: A Novel, despite a venom-laden rant about prequels on this very LJ the month it came out (January 2004, I believe).
Today, after work, I went by Barnes & Noble, and picked up A Knife of Dreams, Book Eleven of The Wheel of Time. Yes, call me a fangirl. Call me a sheep. Call me names. But, according to someone who's already read the book, STUFF HAPPENS IN IT, AND THE STORY BEGINS TO OBVIOUSLY MOVE TO A CONCLUSION. I have to see this for myself, since I have always enjoyed the story, no matter that he's strung us along for four books now (couldn't some of what he's written since book 6 been cut out, so the story flows better?). I'll let you guys know what I think of the book when I finish. (And I find myself wanting a group to play the Wheel of Time RPG with, in addition to the Serenity RPG. Come on, regular people!! You know you want to game with me, right? *crickets* Right? *crickets die away*
Fine. Phooey on you! *crickets laugh*
Also, while there, I picked up "Learn the Art of Calligraphy: A Complete Kit for Beginners." This includes practice paper, as well as three tips, and sixteen inks. I really am interested in calligraphy, and this is a hobby that can benefit my gaming habit, not to mention is a creative outlet, so I can express myself. I can't wait to get started. This will be fun.
Finally, for today anyway, I am finally digging into my DVD box set of the Irresponsible Captain Tylor. I have it on VHS, but the DVD box set is so cool. I think this is one of my favorite animes of all time. This is a clasic, and any whippersnapper who says otherwise will be smacked with my cane! (Not that I have one, but it sounds nice for effect, no?) Now, I'm going to see about watching another episode or so, and getting some sleep.

OH MY GOSH!!! I completely forgot!!! Last Friday, I finally caved to the irresistable pressure of modern life, and got a new cell phone. I am wireless again. However, I will NOT answer the phone if your name/number doesn't appear in the caller ID. I let people see me, so I think that it's only fair. If you want my number, ask. I'm going to screen replies to this post, so I can share my number, as well as get yours, if you wish. (Note, I'm going to reply with my number, not post it here.)
