I got no freakin' sleep, for one! Hehe.. It's my own fault, really. Well, that and the just-comfortable-enough-to-forget-how-uncomfortable-it-really-is futon that Charles and Melissa have in their spare bedroom. But I've covered that. :)
Sunday, I got to work only 3-4 minutes late. While that's technically late, it's not pay-docking late, and it's the most on-time I've been in about two weeks.* I got things rolling, so that when Angelique showed up for her second payroll training session, I was ready to go upstairs. She had forgotten a lot of what she'd learned last week, but she took notes this week, and basically did the whole thing herself. (I just pointed out the things she was doing wrong.) Payroll was posted by 10am, so all was good.
I edited the spreadsheet we print out for the manager just a little bit (since it's an in-store-only sheet, I can do what I want to it), and went downstairs to figure out what was wrong with our money. Sadly, it got busy, and I had to go out and check. I wasn't worried, since Annie had already decided that she wasn't taking a lunch, and said nothing else about it. I checked from 1130am until 1pm, and it wasn't until 1245p that I heard that Annie wanted her break. (Note: For Annie, her break is a 30 minute affair. She believes that she's taking her two breaks -- which she's technically entitled to -- together. In reality, it's a 30 minute lunch that she's taking, and it plays hell on the Front End when she does this, because she never says "30 minute break." She just says "break.") Well, there was nothing I could do, simply because I couldn't get overtime. Isn't it ironic that I was actually on time, when, had I been as late as I usually am, I could have done it?
I came back to Charles's house, and proceeded to clean it up. Granted, I'd only been there about 40 hours at that point, and I'd been gone for 10 of that, but I always clean their place up a little better than they leave it. I know *I* like coming home from a trip to a clean house. Cleaner than I was expecting is just gravy.
I almost skipped out on
nyminal's game today, because of how tired I was. The longer I thought about skipping out on the game, the more certain I was that I had to head over and play. :) Odd.
The game itself was a ton of fun. I believe I am just this side of officially receiving the greatly-desired "action hero" feat that we used to joke about in
lordreaibn's old D&D game. (Essentially, anytime a check would be required for something, such as jumping, climbing, running, or something similar, the "action hero" automatically makes it, and no check is made. You can usually tell who has the feat, because game conversations will go like this:
Of course, knowing my Referee, I'm not that safe, but it's fun to do, because *I* am action oriented, and he likes action scenes. *grin* We wrapped up the game, and we actually got XP. Sadly, *I* didn't get enough to level more than once. Even the other 6th level player hit 8th level. Oh well, that's life. I just gotta find out what I can buy for 1000000 imperial credits. :)
Today, I've done little, aside from organizing my dice collection (13 7-dice polyhedral sets, 5 polyhedral sets with multiple d6s and d4s, 10 d10s for Werewolf: The Apocalypse that I've never used, 59 d6s with pips of assorted colors and sizes, a big d20, a big d10, a d30, a 20-sided d10, a 6-sided d3, and alignment dice), and ripping music into iTunes. I tell you, I should have done this long ago. I just wish it hadn't taken me so long to figure out how to "uncheck" a music selection, so my iPod doesn't try to update that. (Yes, I've always known about unchecking songs, but it never hit me to use it as a filter. *sigh*)
I've got my Dragonlance campaign rules done, and ready to print. Now, I just need to reread the first section of the module, in case there is anything I overlooked when I read it the first time. I can't wait for this Saturday. It will be a blast!
Well, back to ripping CDs..
* - I can't wait for my vacation that begins on Saturday. I don't even have to do payroll on Sunday, but I've covered that, too. :)

Hero: "I'm jumping into the 20 foot deep pit." DM: "Okay, you land, and see a doorway in the wall near the bottom." Other PC: "I'm jumping into the 20 foot deep pit, too." DM: "Okay, roll a Jump Check, followed by a Tumble Check." [consults rolls, then rolls dice] You take 7 falling damage." |
