tek2way: (LotR - Lord of the Rings)
So, I didn't post yesterday. My bad.

First, I still remember hints of my dream from yesterday morning, and it still unnerves me some. I remember a PO Box like setup somewhere, and I opened mine. Inside was a bunch of d20 books from Malhavoc Press, as well as some novels (which may not have been Malhavoc's too). Instinctively, I knew that these books came from the devil, but only after lifting them out and looking at them. Then, I heard (I think) the devil (or maybe A devil is more accurate) telling me to take those books. That's when my alarm woke me up.

Strange dream, and while I think there may be something to it, I doubt very seriously it's a warning about RPGs in general. In fact, given that some novels were in there, I'd say that it probably has more to do with things I like, and the potential for something bad to happen as a result of my choices regarding them. Something for me to think about, I guess.

Yesterday at work, I was Busy™. So much so, that I quipped once that I should have had one of those "Now Serving" counters on my chest. I never got a lunch, nor did I get to pull the vending machine money, because I had to go upstairs and finish the schedule. (Which wasn't truly finished when I left, because we had way too much help, but I saw no where I could cut, mainly because *I* rarely do the schedule, and *I* rarely see anything that happens in the afternoon. (When I'm in Guest Care, I'm focused on that, because that requires all of my attention.)

I also learned yesterday that the work I do for the Zone Manager is coming to an end. It seems that, in a month, they are rearranging the Zone Managers, and the one I work under will be getting transferred back out to Arkansas. Obviously, I won't be going with him. That's a real shame, too. With the work I'd done on the chart spreadsheets, I felt that I was truly getting somewhere. Maybe not UP, but definitely known, which is good, too. Now, unless something miraculous happens, I'll be working downstairs again, and I don't think I like that anymore. I've enjoyed the lack of stress for a while. (Well, I definitely was under stress, but it was a different kind when I was doing those sheets. That was fun, since I love working in Excel.) Ah, well, time will tell, eh?

I bought a garden gnome because I had to*, and came home. I talked with Scott a while, and we decided to begin working on a D&D setting together. Of course, *I* want to do a setting using the Top-Down method, and I think he's more interested in doing a Bottom-Up method. (Top-Down refers to creating the world itself first, and then focusing on a particular continent/country/state, while Bottom-Up is the reverse of that.) We'll see how that goes. Frankly, I'm quite happy with Eberron, and I have no real lingering thoughts as to what else I'd want in a setting. Maybe something will come to me today.

As for now, I have to go get ready for work, since I need to leave early. My case of Death Knell minis came in yesterday, and I wanna get 'em before work. That way, I can spend my lunch hour opening the boxes, or not. They'll be opened by the time I go to bed tonight, at least. :)

Bye, folks.

* - I looked at it, and knew I had to get it. I didn't gush over it. I just knew I had to pick it up. Curiouser and curiouser.
