Today went really well. I was going to get there half an hour early, since I had to do the store close, but I piddled around until I was just 10 minutes early. I clocked in, and got to work. I must admit that I forgot how efficient I can be when I'M ON TIME. (While I was late to myself, I wasn't expected there until 500am, so it was almost like I got there on time for my regular shift.) Anyway, double standards and such aside, I had a very good morning, and had everything taken care of long before 10am, so I didn't get a call this week. I ran into overtime a little at the end, but that's mainly because I had to redo the spreadsheet to handle Wage Percentage instead of Sales Per Labor Hour. (Basically, sales percentage is a figure that represents how much of a store's weekly sales are used up by paying the employees. It's not as cold-hearted as it sounds, honest. :))
Now, I'm at home, and I have a D&D character to make. To my right sit my D&D books: Player's Handbook, Arms & Equipment Guide, Complete Adventurer, Complete Arcane, Complete Divine, Complete Warrior, Draconomicon, Expanded Psionics Handbook, Frostburn, Libris Mortis, Manual of the Planes, Planar Handbook, Unearthed Arcana, Eberron Campaign Setting, Sharn: City of Tower (Eberron Supplement), and -- of course -- Forgotten Realms: Silver Marches.
From the digital realm of my PC, I have Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, Faiths and Pantheons (FR Supplement), Librum Equitis Compiled, Librum Equitis 4: Sidhe Kin, Player's Guide to Faerun (FR Supplement), Minions of the Shadow (Midnight Supplement), Races of Destiny, Races of Faerun (FR Supplement), Races of Stone, Salt and Sea Dogs (Kalamar Supplement), Serpent Kingdoms (FR Supplement), Shining South (FR Supplement), and Underdark (FR Supplement).
In total, that's twenty-nine books to assemble a character. Heh, I should be ashamed, but I'm not. I imagine that I will wind up chucking half of them as worthless. So you see, I *NEED* all these books, just so that I have a good selection of material AFTER I've done some whittling. :)
Now, to dive in..
EDIT: 4:15pm - Minions of the Shadow is a monster book. Oops..
4:18pm - Librum Equitis 4 fell first. Stay tuned..
4:19pm - Not long thereafter, Librum Equitis Compiled fell..
4:24pm - Races of Destiny is CRAP!
4:37pm - Races of Stone...gone.
4:39pm - As is Serpent Kingdoms.
4:43pm - Salt & Sea Dogs didn't grab me.
4:46pm - Underdark didn't work. Why'd I pick all these? Oh yeah, so I still have good books when I'm done. :)
4:47pm - Deleted the FRCS without even looking in it. If there's something worth getting, it'll be reprinted in Player's Guide to Faerun..
4:58pm - Faiths & Pantheons? What was I thinking?! I'll pick a deity to worship AFTER making the character. :)
5:06pm - No cool weapons. No neat races. Shining South is gone.
