This is my last update before I begin installing my OS. I've got three CDs left to burn. I've been working on that since yesterday at noon, with a break last night to hang out with Charles. When one has an 80GB drive, one is disinclined to actually, oh, say, BURN stuff on a regular basis, because one has room. I'm such a stupid one. :) No matter. I've learned my lesson. It'd be much easier to burn maybe 4-5 at a time, than 22 CDs. I can bring myself to sit and burn 4-5. Heck, with my burner, that only takes about 30-40 minutes, assuming I've got the compilations assembled. (I tend to group things I'm going to burn together in a folder with the future CD's name. Yes, I'm obsessive-compulsive about this.)
Also, today is special for another reason: Tori Amos' new CD, The Beekeeper, hits the stores. I'm going to pick up the special edition, mainly because I want all of her songs, and the special version has a bonus track. I just hope there aren't any surprises like in the Scarlet's Walk special edition CD. I was looking through that one when I got it, when I thought I saw a bug in it. I was considerably unnerved, since the thing had been shrinkwrapped until just a moment prior. Calming down, I inspected the "bug" closer to discover that it was just a little plastic toy lizard that was included with the CD on purpose. Sheesh. :)
Comedy though it may be (as I've been told, and as I've seen from one scene), I am thinking about picking up Van Helsing. Frankly, as long as it's an action movie, then I imagine I'll have fun watching it. My standards are notoriously low. After all, Star Wars ranks higher for me than any of the Lord of the Rings movies, Casablanca, or Life is Beautiful. :) (Though all of the aforementioned are in my personal top ten.) Still, it can't be worse than Dungeons & Dragons was. I mean, I actually bought the DVD, and the "alternate" cut ending was WORLDS better than what we saw in theaters. (Simply put, they mourned Snails, and walked away. None of this "let's turn into balls of energy and imply that we're going whereever Snails is so we can do the sequel" crap.)
Anyway, I'm burning my last disc now, so I'm about to get started properly on this project. Wish me luck, people. I'm really going to do it this time. :) When next you see me, it'll be on a fresh install of XP.
