tek2way: (Movies - Lord of the Rings)
..at least if you're at ground zero when the lightning hits. :) Seriously, though, I have been sitting outside at work against the building when thunderstorms have gone through. There were times that I could feel the rumble of thunder after a particularly brilliant strike.

Work was "eh" today. Honestly, I could have done without working today, but that would probably mean that I'd have had to work tomorrow, and someone would have RUINED time and attendance this morning. *sigh* No matter how much I'd like to take off, I'm too convinced the place will fall apart without me there. (At least on Sundays.)*

I finished in a timely fashion, and was able to leave on time. I had some lunch, took a shower, and cleaned the place up of the things I had messed up. (Washed linens, dishes, took out trash. That sort of thing.) Now, I'm sitting here, sleepy enough to go to sleep, but unable to let myself, because I have to get the clothes out of the washer when they're done. I might nap in that comfy recliner they have in the living room anyway.

I'll just spend some quality time with my World of Darkness book. In that chair. With my Mountain Dew right next to me.

* - Or, could it just be that I don't want them to realize that someone else can do it, and relieve me of the job? *smiles* That's a possibility, but not completely it, I'm sure.

Well.. I settled down in the living room, and realized that I had a pounding headache. I dozed off, only to wake in a short while, with it worse than before. I let the dogs outside, and sat out there for a bit. This helped some, but it came back when I went inside. I set my computer to defragmenting, since it was acting like it needed it.* So, I laid down on the recliner again, and made sure that I wasn't sitting funny in it.

I came out of my doze again, and felt a little better. I folded the bed linens, put some of my stuff in the car, and concentrated on that. It went away a bit.

So, here I sit, reading about the World of Darkness book already being sold out (from White Wolf; your FLGS probably has copies left), and my head is still tight, but it doesn't "hurt," per se. I've rifled through the medicine cabinets and bedside tables, and can find NO aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or naproxen sodium. I'm half tempted to take a dose of their generic NyQuil, just for the acetaminophen in it, but I've held off thus far.

I better go look to making dinner. I want to have something ready for them when they get in. I'm nice that way. :)

* - I think that it's time to reinstall Diskeeper. I removed it because the service was always running, but without it, I never remember to defrag my drive. Oh well. The service is easily the lesser evil.
