Work was not bad today. I discovered a yummy beef jerky stick that is only 89ยข, though it is a little on the salty side. I felt positive for most of the day, probably because Joyce came in at 1pm. Finally, the shackles have been removed!! Of course, I think I'm going to keep my inner level of responsibliity up more than before, because I have a good idea now of how poor Joyce was feeling.
One thing happened today that really set me off. I received an SIR - a Significant Incident Reminder. This is one step under an official write-up, though it still goes in your file. The reason? I had three-quarters of an hour of "unapproved" overtime. *quivers in awe and fear* If any of you really read my journal last week, you'll realize that the only day I stayed over was the day that I had no choice in the matter, because I had to finish the schedule. Personally, I think they'd have looked at me crazy for even asking if I should stay. Yet, here I received what amounts to a write-up.
I was pissed off. I haven't been written up in any capacity since October 1995, when I took a WIC out of date by accident. I spoke with the manager about it, and when she heard why I stayed over, said, "Ball up the SIR and throw it away. Next time, let us know." Fair enough. I'll do that next time.
I came home, and finished updating my list of interests. I was somewhat annoyed that I couldn't put Sirius, because of a certain hideously popular character in the Harry Potter series. So, I put "Star - Sirius" instead. Yeah, I was talking about the star. It's such a pretty color blue, and is so bright. That led to a whole slew of favorite celestial bodies, including Orion and Saturn. (Nothing beats the sight of looking through a telescope and seeing the rings of Saturn. It's almost spiritual.)
I also downloaded a bunch of PDFs today, because I have a feeling that they will provide inspiration for adventures for my Eberron game. Of course, in a not-unrelated note, I realized that I still have a copy of Call of Cthulhu d20 on PDF. Oh yeah,
nyminal? I found Tournaments, Fairs, and Taverns. As I suspected, it was hiding on a non-RPG PDF CD.
Anyway, I work tomorrow, as usual, and I plan to stop on the way home, and get my hair cut. I can shake my head right now, and feel the hair swinging. That's to say nothing of what it's like in a breeze!
