..but work raises its butt-ugly head. *yawn*

I wish, just for once, I could be as sleepy when I get off work, as I was when I went in. What invariably happens instead, is that I am hideously sleepy in the morning, and bright and peppy when I leave work. What in the hell is wrong with being able to come home, and going right to sleep? Oh well..

I work 4a-12p today, and I get to do my T&A paperwork, and then do the Zone reports. Full day, spent entirely in front of a computer. At least, I bloody hope so. I don't want to have to help on the front, like I did last week. (Mainly because I need to get that spreadsheet ready a little farther in advance than 1-2 weeks, and I need time to do that.)

Before I totally forget, my dreams last night involve a rain storm that was POURING down rain, me out in it at the top of the hill in my backyard, and two carrying cases of my minis. There was something involving a diner as well, but that's all I remember. At one point, I stopped and concentrated, and that's when I woke up.. four minutes early. (Catch 22. I hate having my alarm clock wake me up, but I hate getting up early. *sigh*)

Off to work with me!!

So, I should have kept my fat mouth shut this morning. By making the statement, "I don't want to have to help on the front, like I did last week." I invoked Murphy's Law. Sure enough, 6am came, and the morning checker hadn't shown up. I wound up checking for an hour and a half. I finally got the morning checker on the phone, who told me that she had been told 8am when she called for her schedule. She didn't argue, mind you. She came right in, once she knew she was supposed to be at work.

(I was actually a little worried, too. This checker is NEVER late. Since she hadn't shown up, and hadn't called, I feared that something may have happened to her on the way in to work. Glad I was worried over nothing.)

I got upstairs, but my momentum had been shot, so I plodded and fumbled through the rest of the day. I can happily report that, under my watch, the store was $1.74 short for the week. That's right, the store was less than two dollars short for the entire week. So, I was rather proud of that. Greg came in, so I didn't have to worry about my explanation. At least, not yet. *gulp*

I left promptly at noon, and came home to rest. I'm supposed to go to Charles' later, and I do want to, but I have to emphasize how relaxing just sitting here, working on random things, is. For example, I have thought about making an LJ icon using Negi, the main character from Negima (Magister Magi Negi). Of course, I'm also feeling the urge to make an icon because of the SeraMyu albums I got yesterday. I said it years ago, and I'll say it now: Miyuki Kanbe is a cutie. :)

Well, I'm gonna clean up my desk area of the lunch I made, and ponder my next move. More from me later, folks.

(Oh yeah, something involving the Daelkyr and the Warforged popped in my head on the way home from work. This should be cool.)

Well, I've spent all afternoon reading First Rider's Call, by Kristen Britain. Great book, let me tell you. I'm engrossed in it, to say the least. I was supposed to go to Charles', but when I called him around 3pm, I was informed that he and the missus were going to go clothes shopping, and that he'd call me back "when we leave the clothing store in 30-45 minutes."

Two and a half hours later, I heard from him. In that time, I had progressed from reading in my chair, to reading without my shoes, to reading on my bed, to reading on my bed without socks or glasses. And he wondered why I didn't want to go anywhere? Ha!

I'm beat. I'm going to settle down, and probably go to sleep shortly. Or, knowing me, I'm going to marathon the book until I'm done. I only have 75 pages left, after all.
