So. Today. Work.
I ran a TEENY bit late this morning, but nothing bad (one minute late doesn't dock on even the strictest job I've seen). However, Glen was late. Pretty dang badly, too. He claims it was only 15 minutes, but I would swear that it was closer to 25 minutes. Oh well, it's not worth arguing (or stressing) about. *shrug*
I got my stuff done on time, but ran into a world of problems. Apparently, the opener on Monday morning counted something she shouldn't have, and had to fix it after the fact. Naturally, this made us come up short this morning. Was there a note left, explaining the problem? Nope! That would involve the use of common sense, amoing other things that are in seemingly short supply at my store.
Then, I had a LIST of things to do today. Of course, I couldn't start any of it until my relief showed up for Guest Care at 11am. I did what I could before then, but every time I went in the back, someone decided they needed a Western Union or money order. I did get Annie's pan ready, though.
I saw her at U-Scan, so I paged her and told her. Apparently, after we hung up, she told Glen that she "had until 7 minutes after" to get clocked in, since she felt I was rushing her to the clock. Umm, no, you don't. You have a grace period to clock in, before you lose pay over it. Nothing more. If you're scheduled at 11am, then you're supposed to be clocking in at 11am at the latest. Of course, life has its little bumps in the road, so you've got a grace period. Simple, right?
Besides, who would assume that I was rushing someone in, just because I told them their pan was already prepped, especially when this person normally walks to Guest Care, and then tells you that she needs her pan, instead of stopping at Accounting to get it? Sheesh.
After lunch, I tracked down why the store was short last week, though I will be unable to prove it until I talk to the lady who handles our EFTs tomorrow. The numbers for Debits, Credits, EBT Food Stamps, AND EBT Cash were screwed up. Basically, it was a fuster-cluck, and it happened on Friday AND Saturday.
I have work tomorrow again 6a-3p, but instead of watching Guest Care, I have to do the schedule. Here, watch me dance for joy. *rolls eyes* Aside from that, I've got a list of things I have to take care of that I didn't get done today. I tell you, I can't wait unitl Joyce is back from Jury Duty!!
On a happier note, though, I took the initiative regarding the new timeclock system we're going to be switching to, since I hadn't heard anything about it. The result? The manager over the conversions/training classes called today, and offered to let me have a manual, and show me how to use it in "training" mode. Yay!! She's also trying to get our store moved up in the conversion list, mainly because of the Zone Manager's secretary, who also works at another store (that's getting it's conversion early in the process), and you can't be in both the old AND new system.
So, I've not yet played The Sims, and I do plan to play a little before I go to sleep tonight. Of course, I plan a lot of things that don't work out. :-P
Okay, about the title. Notice this: Vader wore black. The Emporer wore black. Luke, once he was a Jedi, wore black. However, Obi-Wan wore brown robes. Yoda wore brown robes. Heck, even Anakin's spirit wore robes that would have been brown, had he been alive. And that's going strictly off the original trilogy. Dip into the prequels, and you can add that Darth Maul wore black. Count Dooku wore black. Mace Windu, Ki-Adi Mundi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan (again), and Yoda (again) all wore brown robes.
Simply put, Luke's a bloody Sith/Dark Side Warrior. Still, he suckered Vader into killing the Emporer redeemed Vader from the Dark Side, so he's good in at least one way. :)
