Well, after work, I went over to
andric's house, where I promptly borrowed her copy of Order of the Phoenix, because I was all of 15 pages from being done with it when I left work, and I had to finish it before we saw the Prisoner of Azkaban again. And I was successful!!
We arrived, and I learned that I was right. In the paper on Wednesday, they had a picture and writeup of a cute 27 year old with long curly brown hair, who was in charge of the line party that was forming. I was positive that this girl sat in front of us at the Prisoner of Azkaban Memphis Premiere. We walked up to the doors of the theatre, and the girl, decked out in full Hogwarts regalia* said, "Didn't you sit behind me at the premiere?" Score one for my memory. :)
We went inside, and were finding the end of the line when I heard a voice I've not heard in a long, long time.** I turned around to see none other than Scott Bailey, a few pounds heavier and hair much shorter. The last time I saw that man, it was right after
andric moved into her condo. We stood in line with him and his family, and chatted about old times, and cut up like we were still in E-mail (with the tact that only comes with time).***
The movie was, as before, great. I saw a couple of instances that MIGHT have been the "foreshadowing to books 6 and 7" that Rowling mentioned were inadvertantly put in there, but nothing conclusive. Dammit.
After the movie, we grabbed Starbucks, and went to her house, where we watched Shrek 2. After it finished we had a fun conversation involving the various types of liquor she had at her house.****
I came home, read a little out of my Dragon magazine, and crashed. Now, I'm about to go eat breakfast, because I'm helping Charles and Melissa MOVE today. (They decided to pay someone to put the fence up. Oh well, I wanted to, but I understand. The location where the fence goes is in a minefield of phone and power lines.)
See you all later today, when I'm much, much more tired.
* - Same as
makeshift_guru, I have a real problem with people who dress up for a movie, and at least don't make it very, VERY accurate. Kids are an exception, mind you, but adults are old enough to understand detail. Anyway, this girl had the look down nice. She even had a "Head Girl" pin, and her schoolbag had the Hogwarts emblem on it. *thumbs up*
** - Five points if you recognize the movie this is stolen from.
*** - We were BAD, back in the day. I think we've toned it down a hair, but only just enough to not have funny looks that often in public. :)
**** - Sorry,
sc0ttyb, but nothing by Uncle Jemima. ("What you swattin' at?") :)
