I'm posting. It's really out of my hands. Friday afternoon/evening, I helped Charles and Melissa get their new house ready. Same with Saturday. Sunday, we did a little bit of cleaning, and then we got drunk at their apartment (with Scott) while the tornado sirens blared.* Monday we (same four - two of whom [Scott and Melissa] were hungover) had a cookout at the apartment.

Tuesday, I came home and crashed out. I got a headache in the middle of the night that required medication AND an icepack, but I did sleep. Wednesday, Charles and I hung out without his wife for the first time in years. We drank herbal tea, had leftover Memorial Day meat, listened to Loreena McKennitt, and talked about RPGs, people, and dentists.

So, there's the short of it. I've been enjoying myself, more or less, but I haven't been in any position to post about it, nor have I felt like it once I've been in the position. I took a nap this afternoon, which is probably responsible for what you're seeing now. Otherwise, I'd be asleep already. (I've been getting nasty headaches when I'm LEAVING work lately.)

Tomorrow, I'm going to see Prisoner of Azkaban with [livejournal.com profile] andric, at the Muvico theatre downtown, on the BIG screen. Should be fun. I'm missing a D&D game to do it; Scott (the DM) is inconsolable, but I told him I wasn't going to be there, and to not count on me. Dammit, RPGs are fun, but they shouldn't substitute for a life, especially if I have a chance to do something.

As for Sundays, we haven't gamed since the week before Memorial Day. [livejournal.com profile] nyminal's folks were in town last week. We're going to game again, and it should be interesting, since I have the Dungeon adventure that uses the Book of Vile Darkness prepared (or mostly). After that, who knows? Perhaps the 3.5 conversion of Castle Maure?

Finally, I'm feeling wishy-washy on the subject of Dragonlance again. I think I'll keep my 3e books, since they are releasing a toolset to run games set in the Fourth Age. I mean, deep down, I just hate Fifth Age. I've tried not to, but it altered the status quo WAY more than any setting should suffer. No matter, though, I'm going to run Eberron next. I've also learned that Greyhawk is a cool setting, if handled in a "history-lite" method, and of course Silver Marches will always be cool. Oh well, this is just some random idle musings anyway.. Hope y'all are doing well..

Abandon all hope; ye who Meme within.. )

* - Hey, we'd all been promised beer all weekend. I was also comfortable in the storm. I just knew that if we were going to die, there was nothing that could be done to avoid it, so I quit worrying about it.
