Ahh.. it is absolutely gorgeous outside. The suns playing behind clouds, but still peeking out enough to count as sunny (sunny-ish?). The temperature outside couldn't be more perfect if you tried. It's that temperature that caresses you, and invigorates you. The breeze is just strong enough to push that oh-so-good-feeling air against you a little more personally. MMmm.. *shiver* I wish I had somewhere I could get away from everybody and everything with weather like this. This is the kind of weather that allows a peaceful contemplation of the universe, and where one stands in it.

If only it could feel like this most of the time. This is the kind of day that excites me. It sharpens my senses, and throws everything in to vivid relief.

I got my operating system updated with my personal copy of Windows XP Home now. There's one particular thing that I miss about the corporate beta, though: Internet Explorer had a built-in pop-up blocker and cookie blocker. It worked better than what I've seen of this one. *sigh* I almost lost my mind last night doing this, too. I had had to get out my Office XP disc late last week, and I put it up somewhere other than its case. Well, I have since cleaned my room, so I began to wonder where it was. I spent HOURS looking for it. I started getting cranky and angry. I even chipped a small piece off of my chair's base in my temper tantrum. Fortunately, it was superficial.

Anyway, I finally found it, in my Windows 2000 OS disc's case. *shakes head* What the hell was I thinking? That was two spots from the actual case it goes in. Why didn't I just put in back to begin with? Sheesh. :)

Everything is up and running great. Interestingly, Semagic now runs with the file named properly. I never did figure out what was going on with that corporate beta regarding Semagic, but I guess it's water under the bridge now.

Oh, and apparently, the publisher of [livejournal.com profile] wicked_wish's wonderful novel, Four and Twenty Blackbirds, is throwing a temper tantrum about providing tax information, among other things. He's going to pull the book out of print. Buy a book soon (using the link I just provided), before they're impossible to find. Trust me, it's good, and you won't regret it.

EDIT: I bought a second copy last night, so I have one to loan out, if need be.

Now, I'm going to see about working on some stupid paperwork for my job, possibly making a new icon or three, and getting ready for the lottery training meeting at 330pm.
