Contrary to the title above, I did not drink anything tonight. The thing is, though, that I got up at 330am on Friday morning. The time, as I write this, is 1250am. That's nearly 21.5 hours straight. Let's recap the long, strange* road I had to take to get here:
First, my alarm went off at 330am, like it has been for a while, so I could grab a quick shower and take my dad to work. That went pretty smoothly, though he had a BUNCH of stuff to drop off, courtesy of our shopping trip last night.
Work was rather mundane today, at least early. Tim closed last night, so most of the major work was done. That's how it's supposed to be, too. The day before, I had seven tills to count, and I had UScan to count Wednesday morning. Sheesh. At any rate, things went smoothly for the first part of the day.
The day didn't get rough until I had to deal with one of our new employees, who doesn't know when to shut her stupid mouth. She asked what she had worked so far since starting, and when I was telling her (broken down, because training and regular hours are different) she interrupted me after the FIRST item, and said, "No, that's wrong." You can imagine how I reacted.** After we both settled down a bit, and she asked about her pay. I told her what was in the computer, but tried to state that it might not be the same due to differences with HR and our store. (They could have built in a "fake" pay, just so she had a clock number. HR would handle the correct amount.) I went to lunch when I got her off the phone.
During lunch, I had to talk to our CSR for the Tennessee Lottery. We got our signage, as well as the dispenser boxes for the lottery. I think it'll be neat, personally. I called Joyce, and broke down what each item was about. After lunch, I had to "tweak" the schedule. This is not fun. I got the right shifts covered, though we had too many hours. I also got a sense of unease around Dana again. Probably because she had a fit involving Faye. Stupid woman. *sigh*
I swung by Shana's, since I couldn't make it to the theatre in time. We hung out and talked a bit. I helped her with her computer, and we went to see Return of the King around 8pm. The movie rocked, though I kept falling asleep after the Battle of Pelennor Fields. We came home, and I made it back here with some level of consciousness.
Now, instead of going to bed, I'm forcing myself to do a post. I wish I would learn better. G'night, all..
* - This translates into English as "Boring."
** - I have stated before how having my skill at payroll called into question puts me on the defensive. I get short as a result.
