tek2way: (Death - Umbrella)
I've been up for the better part of the day. I hung out with [livejournal.com profile] hal23x and his roommate. We had a birthday dinner with the roommate's mom. I learned that Soldier of Fortune II is considerably harder than the first one. The three of us talked about astronomy and such.

Now, I sleep. Tomorrow, I work 5a-1p, and then game again. Woohoo!! Session 10, here I come!! :)

Needless to say, neither my campaign idea, nor my character, got done at all.

I believe it was earlier this week in which I said that I need to get to bed earlier. Last night qualifies as well, now. I had picked up the final volume of the Love Hina manga, so I felt compelled to read it before I went to bed. That was DUMB. Oh well. I should be able to get some sleep tonight. I mean, I might be able to get *6* hours of sleep tonight. That's TWICE what I got last night.

Today, we're gaming. I can't actually wait, even though I never finished my e-mail conversation with Stephen about what Aric was doing. I'll have to remember what happened, and talk to him before the game starts, I guess.

...I'm going to relate a positive story from work.

I was checking, running people through the line as fast as I could manage. Yeah, we were busy. This woman came up with her two kids. The basket was full, and was of the style that had an extra two child seats on the back of it. Each of the kids had two boxes of Fruit Roll-Ups. Obviously, they weren't eating them.

I started ringing the order, and they said. "This is ours!" in a cute kid kind of way. I looked over, saw the stuff, and decided to get that out of the way immediately. I looked at them, and I said, "Okay guys, can I see your boxes for just a second? I'll give them right back." They seemed kind of hesitant, so I added, "I promise." One of them handed their boxes to me immediately. When the other didn't the first one looked at his brother and said, "It's okay. He promised." I took them, bagged each of their boxes separately, and gave them back.

I smiled the rest of that order. It really felt good to see someone who actually still trusts, and for whom promises mean something. As adults, we don't get that often enough anymore. Heck, we don't give it anymore either.

I game today. More when I return...
