...and I'm still here. Things are picking up a bit at work, but that's probably because of the holiday on Friday. I got the vending machines done quickly today, and, overall, had a pretty good day. One interesting thing happened, though. Our Union Representative was in the store, and talking to the Customer Service Manager and me. The subject of the current contract expiring in October came up, and the union rep said that I would be a great addition to the negotiating committee. He said it again before he left, saying that he would really like to see me try to do it.
The catch? I would have to find enough people to vote for me at the union meeting. Ack. Well, we'll see. I don't know how it would work in conjunction with my job, but I can think of a few ways that they can improve things around the store. I doubt that our store is the only one experiencing these issues, too.
I came home, and just goofed off for a bit. My mom gave me a list of videos that she would like for me to get from Amazon for her. Amazon didn't have them. What'd I do? I went to eBay, and found each for considerably less than $10. My mom was stunned at how quickly and easily things could be found online. Hehe, she hasn't tried to find anything difficult yet. :)
I painted a little bit, and I still suck. However, I think I'm beginning to grasp the basics of shading using paint. Only beginning, but that's a start, right? I'll have to work at it, because I found perfect miniatures for Ashe Haydon (my archer) and Aric Seles (my paladin in the current game). I also found a mini that might work for Alex's character, Osborn, in the Sunday game, too. I looked for minis for everyone, but I struck out on Malachi and Aza. I found decent minis for Chou and Jassan, but those minis are no longer in production.
Now, I'm going to see if I can finish The Fifth Ring tonight. I'm nearing the end, and it's a very good read. The author has a way of building up the tension as the story progresses. He does it properly, though. The story DOES advance, but frustratingly so. :)
