... no post at all. Or, is it?
Nothing particularly special about today. I had to run the End of Day, and the store came up short. Happily, I don't feel bad about it, per se. Mainly, it's because I know I have been covering my butt better than I was, so no fingers can be pointed at me. I didn't get to read much of my Astronomy book today, but that's primarily because I was running around, dealing with a lot of little stuff. You know, gophering cigarettes for the checkers, running a register long enough to check out two people, which ended our rush, that sort of thing.
I did read a little bit about the moon while on lunch. The myriad theories as to why it is the size it is, as well as how it came to be in our orbit are just astounding. The neat thing is that it is responsible for slowing our days down, ever so slightly. In billions of years, the earth's day will be 47 hours long, and the moon will be in a geosynchronous orbit. Oh, man, do I love this stuff!!
I grabbed my comics today, and gave in to temptation. I've been reading the books, so I bought a Starter Deck for A Game of Thrones, which is based on the George R. R. Martin books I've been raving about. The game looks fun, and it appears that the owner, his girlfriend, the other shop worker, and a couple of regulars all play. They have tournaments up there from time to time, too. So, even if no one in my immediate circle wishes to play, I can always go up there and find a game or two. Yeah, so now there's Magic, Warlord, ANDA Game of Thrones. Three card games. How the hell will I afford to live? Card games are black holes for money. Chances are I'm going to cut off my Magic spending, since it's the game that I have the most cards for, as well as being the most open-ended. A GoT kinda has a storyline to follow, and Warlord is based on the roll of the d20, so I'll probably put most of my initial money into GoT, then Warlord, and finally, Magic.
I work 6a-3p tomorrow, but I hope to get there at 545a, since I have to run the end of day again. Tomorrow evening, I'll finish my Aric Seles background, and post the info on my Star Wars character. (Apologies in advance to those who don't like RPGs - perhaps I should make that RPG-specific journal, huh?)
