I was going to sit down around 6pm, and type up a wonderful post about how my day has gone pretty much nicely. I walked in my room, though, and felt like I had opened the door to hell. While I had been in here not 15 minutes eariler, I was now beset by a multitude of termites. And, I do mean multitude. We had a small problem with them in the room my little brother is fixing up, but it was mainly contained to there. My room, though, is next to that one. Guess what? Yep. They chewed through the walls.
I vacuumed and vacuumed, and duct taped over the holes (as a temporary measure - ya gotta turn off the tap before the water quits flowing, ya know). I was getting really distressed, so I grabbed my phone, and called Orkin. Let me tell you, I knew they would be pricey, but I never knew how much so. Fortunately, they can finance. My dad hadn't done anything, so I set up the appointment, and dealt with the guy. They'll be out Saturday. I guess my credit is recovering from that disastrous repossesion last September. (but then again, since I paid to get the car out, would it REALLY count against me?)
Now, I've got more debt, but sadly, you don't have a choice sometimes. The inspector assisted me with getting the lowest monthly payment, while still maintaining the integrity of the contract. Well.. anyone looking for some used RPG books? I think I'm going to be auctioning off a few to subsidize this contract. (I can afford it, but my spending money is going down. I'd rather sell what I'm not going to use, and get books I will use.) I'll post a list of things going up on the block later. (And, if you want something e-mail me at the addy in my profile. No need to bid on those.)
Take care, people. (
rawee1, I'm still going to meet you at the Cupboard on Saturday. Two things, though: First, the Orkin guy is coming on Satruday morning, and since I have never dealt with them, I don't know how long it'll last (of course, I'm probably not needed). Second, where exactly IS the Cupboard? I only very vaguely remember, and, even then, I'm don't remember the route to take. Let's assume I can make it to McLean and Union. I know I can do that much. :)
