As I stated earlier, I met
jartravian at Comic Cellar. What? Where was
lordreaibn? Well, he didn't show. Grr... Oh well.
I got up there a little after noon, and started going through their stock of Magic singles. I spent every bit of an hour going through their cards. I bought $60 worth of cards for $42. He cut me a deal, since I was spending so much. I left with about 60-70 cards. Much better than buying packs, at least for now.
Jason showed up, and we played several games. I won several at first. Then, he got out his mono-blue "steal every creature you play and use it against you" deck. Nice design, even if creature theft was a cardinal offense in my old play group. :) We had fun, but finally had to leave for a little while when a guy wearing a Green Lantern jersey started playing his new Game Boy Advance SP. He was talking about it to anyone who cast an eye to him. He made a point to sit at the table, and talk about it. Aside from Jason and me playing Magic, we also had one of the guys who works at the shop, the owner's girlfriend, and another guy playing some "A Game of Thrones". We left because I was losing my battle not to laugh at this guy who was cheering his video game forces in some battle on that screen.
At Best Buy, Jason picked up a GameBoy video game. I fell prey to my obsessions, and bought Sarah Brightman's "La Luna" and "Dive", as well as Stratovarius' new album, "Elements".
We went back to Comic Cellar, where we did some trading. I traded my 7th edition Serra Angel to him for a lot of good cards. Among those I got from him were: Braingeyser, 3x Necropotence, 4x Whispers of the Muse, a Spirit Link, several mana elves, and a Nevinyrral's Disk. He got some good stuff, too. Or so I hope. :)
We played a couple of more games, including a game with the special tournament "world championship" decks we had. A kid gave me his commons and uncommons from some packs he bought. I gave him my Elvish Champion in return. I know it's a rare, but I felt good doing it. (He had asked about that earlier.)
I came home, ordered pizza, gave Aron the cards I had snagged for him, and set to thinking about what I am going to do for the RPG tomorrow. I haven't thought about it all week. Now, you know the problem with me playing Magic. :)
Good night, all.
