I was late again this morning. I don't know why I am incapable of getting to work on time, but it's getting on my nerves. Thankfully, there wasn't an auditor there this morning. :) (And there had better not be. They don't do the same place two days in a row unless they think they're going to get to fire someone.)
Two bad things happened this morning, though. First - and by far the lesser of the two - I bought a newpaper before I went into the back. This meant that I spent 20 minutes reading the headlines, comics, and scanning the rest. Darn it, I told myself I wouldn't do that. Second, I learned that our Stock Manager's father passed away last night. I didn't know the father, and I am not buddy-buddy with the Stock Manager, but this sucks. Losing a parent seems like it would be the emotional equivalent of losing an arm or leg. My thoughts and prayers go out to him.
Aside from the gloomy start to the morning, things actually went rather well. I don't think I got totally angry at all today. I got short a couple of times, but I was able to calm myself back down before it got out of hand. I made some progress in Dark is the Moon. (The story is finally picking back up some. Of this, I'm tremendously glad. The first two were too good for this one to sink totally.)
When I got home from work, what did I find on my doorknob? My 256MB stick of memory! I now have a total of 512MBs of DDR2100-266MHz memory. Ahh. Unreal Tournament runs smoothly, and my system overall seems happier. I spent the afternoon "testing" it by playing Unreal Tournament and Grand Theft Auto III. I finally got tired of it, though, and have been in LJ ever since...
Now, I think I'm going to go through my Magic cards, and see what they have to offer me. I have a deck I'm supposed to build. Oh, I don't know. I'll think of something. I just hope it's more interesting than just sitting here, waiting on LJ responses.
