After working today (I'm on the schedule in accounting next week.. looks like that was a knee-jerk threat, and not a serious thing, though I am not relaxing just yet), I came home. :)
I decided that the weather was PERFECT today for mowing our lawn, which had been neglected from a combination of lack of interest in doing it (even me), super-duper high temperatures, and -- for the last week -- no lawn mower. Charles had taken it to his GF's to get at her backyard, but wound up leaving it there.

strieson gets me some gasoline (as a result, I started with the weed eater instead). I did the front yard, realizing that the grass had gotten high enough to leave clumps of grass, despite the mower being one of those fancy mulching mowers (no, it wasn't THAT high.. it's just thick. Trust me folks.. healthy lawns ain't all that! :) ). I edged using the weed eater, raked the worst clumps up, and swept the area clean.
Meanwhile,strieson had gotten the lawn mower, and was kicking the backyard's ass!!! Gold star to him for that (especially given that I was running out of steam)!!
Well, at least the yard looks great, and will continue to do so until at least this weekend (stupid high grass laying down instead of getting cut -- just enough escaped reaping that i need to hit it again later).
Now, I've had two beers (and you REALLY feel manly drinking a Bud Light from a can while resting while doing yard work -- though I did start with a lot of water), and am dirty as heck. I'm gonna go shower, make dinner, and watch 300 (or National Treasure 2, or Serenity Limited Edition). Then, it's bedtime, for I have a 10a-7p shift tomorrow (and I have to run by my bank tomorrow during lunch).
