I wasn't sure how much you'd research it, but Dragonlance Canticle, a Dragonlance podcast, discusses the movie in their most recent podcast.

I'm listening to it, and it's rather interesting to hear their views on the movie. And one of the guys is the guy responsible for the initiation of the presence of Dragonlance RPG for 3e on the net (he's involved with www.dragonlance.com).
I tend to agree with them so far, too.
Enjoy.
EDIT: Look for Dragonlance Canticle on iTunes, too. :)
