I will now be transferred to store 188 when my store closes. Store 188, for those who live in Memphis, is the store at Poplar and Highland. It's the store with the highest volume in the city, is in a good area, and -- as an added bonus -- is near the U of M (can you say "sororities"? I knew you could. :) ). The icing on the cake is that I will be the payroll clerk there when i get there and, if the rumors I heard are true, I will be a co-backup Guest Services Manager.
This is significant because, while I've done the work at 458, I've not really been a backup in the true sense. Becoming backup at that store will mean that I get (slightly) more money. Sure, there's more official responsibility too, but I am ready for it. This ties in nicely with my revised world view from October, though I have a ways to go to get back on track properly with it.
On top of that, my roommate and I are going to be moving in with my old buddy C. Long story, and not appropriate here, but he has need of some roommates, and the three of us get along famously. Oh, did I mention that he lives in Bartlett? So yeah, I'm going from an apartment in Raleigh and working in Hickory Hood to a house in Bartlett and working in a nice area of town (near the rather well-to-do Chickasaw Gardens subdivision).
Now, I must go to bed. I've heard that one of the co-managers from my new store will be stopping by 458 tomorrow to talk to me, and I want to present my best face for the meeting. After all, first impressions are important. :)
