...that I am a nerd, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Below, you will see the "library" I've set up in my new apartment.

This includes all of my novels, my reference books, and my assorted nonfiction and mythology stuff (Celtic, Egyptian, Greek/Roman -- jeez, I want some Norse mythology!). The only thing that you do not see here are my library of roleplaying game books, my larger-than-I-thought manga (Japanese comic) collection, and my American comic trade paperbacks, such as Sandman: The Season of Mists. My hands hurt from putting all those screws into those bookcases by hand, but the instructions said to not use an electric drill. *sigh* I am trying to figure out where I'm going to put my RPGs, at least. I'm tempted to put them along the top, but uh, I have 5 boxes of those yet to unpack. I don' t know that they'd fit. :-p Perhaps another bookcase?
This was my primary goal for today, since I'm waiting on this weekend to move my bed and computer desk (when I can get a truck to help me move!). Over all, I'm pleased as punch at how it turned out. And yes,
dlyman29, those silver boxes with the red stripe are the 1991 and 1992 AD&D Collector's Card Box Sets (from a time when TSR tried to get into the non-sport card market [which boomed in the early 90s, and crashed after Magic rose to dominance]).
Oh, as if that wasn't enough, I want to go on record saying that, while I too grew up saying "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Popsicles," I am glad they've established what counts as a planet, and what does not. Sure, I "feel" for Pluto, but I'm happier with the definition.
rockcandy76 may say that the gas giants shouldn't count, but that's what most of the extrasolar planets have been, if I remember correctly, so big and gaseous outnumbers small and rocky. :) And, frankly, it's not like they said "oh, it's just an asteroid" now, either. There's the new classification of "dwarf planet." Something about that bugs me, though, and I think that it is probably because I'd rather have a one-word deccriptive term, but I don't have one for "dwarf star", so I should just shut up. :)
Tomorrow,
strieson and I are going to tackle cleaning the kitchen properly, and putting away all of the dishes that we have sitting out over there. For now, I'm going to answer my LJ comments, and get some shut-eye. :)
