tek2way: (Royo - Astronaut)
I don't have an agenda for today. Yesterday's went okay, but I didn't do some of the things, and I'm not going to beat myself up about not doing something on my vacation, of all things. I did learn that too much TitanQuest at one time, with the options I have enabled, makes my ATI Radeon X850 Pro video card cry. It crashed on me last night, after about five hours of solid gameplay. (I got Sirius, my Warrior, to level 12. He's Warfare/Defense.) I decided that was my sign to shut down my computer, and do some reading. :)

My plans for today? I think that I'm going to try to do as little as possible. If not for the fact that I routinely flip (from laying on my left side to laying on my right side and back) when I sleep, I'd probably have tried to sleep as much as I could today, just because the thing I most want to do is...

NOTHING

...and I hope that it's everything I think it is. :)

Well, I'mma play some Titan Quest for a little bit, and then finish that McKiernan book, so I can start another one. :)

Warning, this is gamer humor, and -- true to the post title -- a little irreverent.* So, caveat blogger.

Jesus saves...

* - I don't think it's that bad, but it really makes sense only if you know RPGs and how they work.

I love coming up with emo-esque post titles. :)

I did what I threatened, and did NOTHING this afternoon, but for finishing Once Upon a Winter's Night, by Dennis McKiernan. OOOhh... this was a retelling of the Norse tale "East of the Moon, West of the Sun," and it was AWESOME. Then again, I always love the books I read, when I read them. Seriously, though, you really got that "happily ever after" feeling in this story, which was his goal, since his aim at this novel was to flesh out one of the old fairy tales to what he envisioned it used to be, prior to schoolbook publications reduced each story to its base idea.

I can't wait to start on Once Upon a Summer's Day, a sequel of sorts, in that a character in the first reappears, but this one tells the story of "Sleeping Beauty". I don't know why, but I enjoy retellings of tried-and-true stories that I've loved for years, like ANYTHING involving King Arthur. (I am a sucker for Arthurian legend. I mean, big-fat-round-at-the-top-skinny-white-paper-tail-but-flavored-like-cherry sucker. :) The only one I find myself lukewarm to in recent memory would be "King Arthur", the movie that came out a couple of years ago, with Kiera Knightley. I can't explain why I don't care for it, but eh, that's the way of it sometimes. :)

Now, I'm going to see about doing something else for a while, since I spent so long in bed*, I'm not really tired, and I need a bit of a break before I begin the next novel. I have to say, quitting WoW** is doing wonders for my imagination and is really helping to reduce my pile of "Books Yet to Be Read, Slacker".

* -- Lazy days reading are MEANT to be spent in bed!!!
** -- I quit it for the time being, at least, because I don't want to be paying for a service that I may not be able to reach, depending on the outcome of the apartment tour tomorrow.
