Let's see.. oh! Yesterday! I was scheduled to work 3p-11p. No sweat. I actually enjoy those days when I close accounting, because it gives me free run to leave my iPod running the whole evening.
The day started alright, even though I was the MIC after 6pm too. (NOT cool. I have enough to do in Accounting without worrying about grocery deliveries and such like that.) Things went smoothly all afternoon.
nyminal came by and got some Greyhawk materials I had, so that he could finish planning out the game, and I built the basics of my character (stats, skills, feats, BAB, but not equipment).
Actually, the day went well, period, until 10pm. At 10pm, the frozen food truck arrived, and had to be unloaded. Well, at 10pm in Accounting, you pull the final tills, count 'em down, and begin your final count before leaving. Between that truck and a mini-rush, I didn't get back into Accounting until 1030p. Needless to say, I didn't get done until 1130p. So, half an hour of overtime, and I had to drop this one bagger off that I usually give a ride home to.
Naturally, though, I wound up sitting up until nearly 6a, goofing around with my Usenet Newsgroups, WoW, and various sundry other things. I slept until 9a, and got up, because my mind said "today is an off day despite having to go to that meeting at 1p". I wasn't really worried about it, but when I got there (on time, no less!), something was wrong with my store's scheduling system (for those who know a bit about Kroger, ELMS hadn't transmitted the headcount information to SKED), so I sat there for an hour and a half, twiddling my thumbs. See, it wasn't a meeting so much as "supervised schedule writing time". Bah.
So, here I am, off, because I told the "trainer" that I wasn't worried about the pay, because this was my off day, and I wasn't going to sit up there doing nothing productive, even if was WAS getting paid for it.
Ahh, well, at least now I have time to work on my character's background. :)
