tek2way: (Comics - Destiny)
I know I haven't posted at all this weekend. I think you'll agree I shouldn't, especially since I am on vacation. :) Oh, I'm gonna keep you good folks in the loop, but updates will be a litte sparse for now. :)

Anyway..

On Friday, I picked up three anime DVDs for the first time in literally years, with the exception of a single purchase sometime last year. I left Suncoast happy, feeling like I had something I would really enjoy (and I should, since all three were series/shows that I loved "back in the day"). I went to McDonald's, got an extra large Dr. Pepper and large fry, and drove home. When I got to Summer, I decided to get my hair cut, and so I did. :) Basically, I took it easy on the way home, since I had no effective time that I had to be anywhere.

I got home, watched an episode of Kodomo No Omocha (yes, [livejournal.com profile] lordreaibn, it's been released on DVD!), checked out my new copies of Project A-Ko and Lum * Urusei Yatsura Move 5: The Final Chapter, and began to seriously work on my Saturday Dragonlance campaign. Finally, at 130am, I went to bed, and slept well.

Saturday was a great day, like I'd hoped it would be. When I outlined the rules changes I was going to be implementing, I was told by everyone (who didn't regularly play D&D anyway) that the rules I was fixing were the very things about D&D's Third Edition that turned them off of playing in the first place. Everyone, not just me, is excited about playing the game now. I helped Charles's wife, Melissa, make her character, and [livejournal.com profile] strieson lent a hand to Charles. Kevin, uber-genius that he is, did it by himself, and built the character with a backstory in mind. (I can't remember the last time I saw a character built both with a backstory, and skill purchases geared towards matching that backstory.)

Kevin and I took [livejournal.com profile] strieson home that night, and hung out at Kevin's place for a while afterward. I got to see his computer desk area, which kicks ass (can you imagine having things like the laser printer and flatbed scanner on pull out shelves, so they're easier to work with, and maintenance? He did. :) We talked about my car stereo, and what I'd have to do to make my iPod connect to it directly, rather than relying on the FM transmitter.

IPOD OWNERS: I can't speak for everyone, but my car stereo (Pioneer DEH-P545) had a connector in the back that is used for either a CD Changer or Auxiliary connections. That adapter is all I had to buy to hook my iPod to my car directly. I spent $21, and I get great sound. And, since you'll be connecting into the top with a headphone-type jack, this should work for ALL versions of iPod. :) That sounds a lot better than trying to find a dead air radio station. I came home, and goofed off until around 545am. I laughed, thinking that the person who'd be doing payroll for me would be getting to work about 15 minutes after I laid down for the "night".

Well, an hour and a half later, guess who calls? Yep. Her problem was valid. (The safe was still locked because they didn't schedule anyone to come in that early to do morning accounting, and just left tills out.) Deli needed a pan, which the crew had forgotten about the night before. (And this was the only major "blunder" on their part whatsoever.) We got the safe open, and she said that she had a question about something on payroll, so I hung on. I finally got off the phone at noon. I was kinda stuck, and it pissed me off. It was almost as though she knew NOTHING that we'd covered the previous two weeks, even though she did the entire thing herself last week.

By this time, I couldn't get any sleep before going to [livejournal.com profile] nyminal's place, for his Traveller 20 game. The session was great, though my barbarian-type character has nothing that he can spend his money on. (He currently has 1, 034,975 imperial credits. The stupid base Traveller book has no special materals to make weapons out of, no special swords, and nothing really expensive aside from ships and computers. I like playing a fish-out-of-water character, especially with how brazen he can be, but it will kinda suck if I can never quite get any new stuff.

Last night, I arrived home around 830pm, and I decided that I'd clean my room. Now, I don't mean "pick up the items that have been tossed where they don't belong, and return them to their proper storage place." I mean "clean it, from one end to the other, top to bottom, making sure that, after I've passed, everything's exactly the way I want it, and how I want it."

Today, I've already balanced my checkbook. I think that I'm going to clean out my car, and be as thorough with it as I was with my room last night. After I finish THAT, I'll probably start some laundry, or get down my book collection, so that I can catalog them. (I have literally hundreds of books, and I'd like to remember what I have. :))

Now, to get started with things!!

P.S. I need to make more anime icons. I have the space for extra icons, so why not? :)
