Today, we converted from operator accountibility to terminal accountibility. This means that, instead of counting down a single operator's till, we count down the till that was used for the checklane instead. I had some reservations about it at first, but the system looks to be very nice when you know what you're doing. In an amazing turnabout from the norm, I had a million questions while the trainer was there, so I actually learned something, instead of blanking and saying "No, I can't think of anything."
I got a quarter hour of overtime, but they'll just have to live. It was unavoidable, since someone took a long break. Oh well.
I left there, and had a delightful iPod playlist on the way home. Let me clarify something really quickly. I *love* music. A lot. I have over 2700 songs on my iPod. I have some playlists of stuff that I adore. That doesn't, however, preclude the possibility that I wanna skip a track now and then. It's *my* iPod, *my* music, and *my* ears. :) So, basically, by saying that I had a delightful playlist, I am referring to the songs I stopped on.
I got home, only to have to take my dad to the auto parts store, because his truck wasn't working. Fortunately, it was just a hose off the fuel pump, instead of the pump itself. I was back no more than ten minutes after that, when I had to run my mom to Walgreens to get her prescriptions filled. Coming home, I made the dinner I wanted rice with chicken (mixed together, of course). Yum.
Now, I sit here, pondering my rather average, dull day, and realize that I am tired. It wasn't a bad day. In fact, it was a rather good day, just unremarkable. Still, never forget the ancient curse: "May you live in interesting times."
In story news, I haven't begun yet, though I've begun my outline, picking the characters and villains. See, it's going to be loosely based on my Silver Marches campaign. I'm going to take considerable artistic license with the players' characters, changing gender, personality, and whatnot to fit a little better. That's not to say that ALL of the characters are changing, but I think a story with all males might get a little tedious. *shrug* I may change my mind again. In fact, I reserve the right to do so. Perhaps I'll have a workable outline by the time November rolls around, and I can attempt that annual story-writing thing, too. :)
For now, to work on it a little more before bed.
