..perhaps then I'll feel like I got enough rest sometime.

Sunday's D&D game rocked, though tensions got kinda icky for a bit. Everyone managed to have a good time. Scott's warmage died off, so he made a bard. The bard fits the group much better than the warmage, and it was immediately apparent.

I came home, and wound up doing nothing yesterday. I do mean nothing. I spent five hours on a nostalgia web site reading about the 80s, sitcoms from that era, and breakfast cereal (which is why I went there in the first place). Who remembers Waffleos cereal? What about OJs? I do, and I remember them fondly. :) (Nostalgia's a liar! Nostalgia's a liar! Nostalgia's a liar!)

Today, I work for the Zone Manager. It's been nearly two weeks since I last did so, thanks to my vacation. :) I don't regret it, but I would have loved some more time to sleep. As it is, I've taken an AMP and a regular Mountain Dew, and I could STILL go back to bed. Oh well, we'll see if I make it.

Well.. today has been rather...interesting, to say the least. Most importantly, my shift FLEW by. I got there at 815am, and before I knew it, it was almost noon! I got to work on the good computer that the file clerk uses to make signs, since the one I usually use won't recognize the network printer, yet has that printer listed in the control panel. *shrug* Whatever.. It let me use an XP computer, that had an optical mouse -- complete with scroll wheel -- attached. I can probably attribute my fast day to that scroll wheel, let me tell you. (That it was an XP system with a 2 GHz processor and 512MB of memory vs the Win95 machine with like 128MB had no bearing at all.. No sir. *snicker*)

Then, when my shift was 2/3 over, I found out that one of the big guys with risk management was in the store. I get nervous around those guys anyway, but some of you may remember the time back in 2003. where I was accused of taking $1000, right before I went on vacation. (As it turned out, a bundle of twenties got stuck in the chute, but it wasn't discovered until AFTER I'd been given the third-degree and begun my vacation.) Well, the produce manager came into the office where I was working, and gave me some gossip about the TRUE reason the risk management guy was there: OUR CO-MANAGER WAS ORDERING IN, AND SHIPPING OUT THE BACK DOOR, LYE FOR SOMEONE'S METH LAB!! That's right, our co-manager -- according to the story I heard -- had upped the lye order from 1 case every three weeks to three cases a week, and it wasn't getting sold. Crazy, huh?

Also, at work today, I received the coolest thing anyone could give another human being. My co-worker friend had just gotten a DVD burner. His first burn? The *ORIGINAL* Star Wars trilogy. Folks, I'm talking about the version BEFORE Lucas made the Special Editions. Back when you could vaguely make out the outline of the cel plastic around TIE Fighters and X-Wings. Back when Han fired first, and capped that fucking alien scum! Back when Jabba's Palace didn't resemble a Broadway musical (this is not necessarily bad, but it is in Star Wars). Heck, the DVD of "Star Wars" even gives you the option of watching the original opening crawl. That's right, folks. Back in '77, when Lucas first released the movie, it didn't say "Episode IV - A New Hope", because it could have been the ONLY one in the series. So, I need to get some DVD cases for 'em, and print up some custom covers for these discs. These are the true jewels of my collection, now. I love my Extended Editions, but I have the trilogy that started it all for me, now. :)

(Interesting thing my brother pointed out: Princess Leia *KNEW* they were being tracked, yet where did she go? STRAIGHT to the Rebels' hidden base. *rolls eyes* Are we sure she wasn't really blonde? *laugh*)
