1. The last person you will talk to in 2004: Melissa, Charles' wife, when I called them to tell them I wasn't going to make it.

2. The last meal you will eat in 2004: A "Godfather" from McAllister's Deli and some potato salad, with a brownie for dessert. (And lots of their yummy sweet tea!)

3. The last person who will say, "I love you," to you in 2004: I want to say M, a few days ago, but I bet Priss and I said it the other night. (Love you, Meimei!)

4. The last party you will have attended in 2004: Charles' "End of Season" cookout, back in November.

5. The lasting memory of 2004 that you will still think about in 20, 30 or even 40 years from now: My trip to New Jersey. Life isn't the same since that trip.

A real post will be forthcoming, AFTER I've had a shower. I worked so hard tonight that I was dripping sweat at one point. Ick.

It's that time again, folks. M convinced me to celebrate New Year's at noon, since I was stuck at work on the "real" New Year's. So, I am now in 2005. (I wasn't too happy about things when I got home last night, since I wound up being at work until 1230a.)

So, time for resolutions for the new year. By definition, these have to be A) impossible to achieve, B) something that you'd break anyway, or C) something you're going to do whether you resolve to do it or not.
    This year, I resolve to:
  • recognize my self-worth.
  • let go of things that weren't meant to be.
  • be a better friend, to all of my friends.
  • improve my attitude, for both me and those around me.
  • learn to take more risks, especially those that will improve my life.
  • be more careful with how I spend money.
  • make tangible progress toward becoming my own person again.
  • be willing to notice the love of my life, if she shows up in my life.
Ah, yup. This list should be just fine. Wish me luck achieving these, folks.

I managed to do some serious thinking today, without getting depressed. I feel so much better now, than I have since I got back from NJ. I feel... centered. I feel... like i know what is going on. I feel... that things with M are going to get better, but in a best friend kind of way. I talked to Tygress tonight for a while. I've been definitely putting more energy into talking to friends I haven't talked to in a long, long time.

M, I love ya to death, but I'm glad that things happened as they did, if only so events made me recognize what I'd forgotten: My friends. I'm sorry to all of you, who I haven't talked to in months/years. Some of you were closer to me than M is now, yet I let things go.

I realized tonight that it has been FIVE YEARS since I got put into RoadRunner E-mail. Five years. That means I've known [livejournal.com profile] andric, [livejournal.com profile] dragonpurr, [livejournal.com profile] fallenfromgrace, [livejournal.com profile] lordreaibn, [livejournal.com profile] mariavu, [livejournal.com profile] nyminal, [livejournal.com profile] sc0ttyb, and [livejournal.com profile] xxtyrxx for five years. And, with the exception of [livejournal.com profile] mariavu (damn Stream for not putting you over there!), we all worked together in RR E-mail. Heck, except for Holly (TM), Aaron, Tim, Jim Parsegian, Jacque, and Josh Travis, this group represents the "core" of E-mail for 2000 (I didn't count Kevin, because I've known him for about 13 years now). Never have I worked at a place where I had so much fun, or kept in touch (however transiently) with so many co-workers after I left. As I said to [livejournal.com profile] sc0ttyb tonight in AIM, we NEED to have a reunion dinner or something, sometime before the year is up. I mean, so many things have changed. We're all older, that's for sure. :)

Anyway, i have more of that wonderful payroll stuff to handle in the morning, so I'm going to go. Hopefully, this will be the week I remember to burn a CD of mp3s for upstairs. (Windows Media Player can do it, and I might as well take advantage of it, since both boxes I work on have XP, and thus, WMP. *smiles*)
