Well, I'm done being the Customer Service Manager this week. I'm off tomorrow, which couldn't come too soon. I haven't been resting at night. My mind is a non-stop kaleidoscope of images and people and things and events. Sadly, it's also not in TiVo mode, so I can't remember ANY of it when I wake up.
Well, I remember this one liittle bit from last night. I was in an old house, and I was going into the attic with
slipjig and
rafaela. For some reason, we had to hoist ourselves through the hole above the walk-up staircase into the attic proper. I got some assistance from
slipjig when I feared that I was gonna fall (and falling was REALLY bad, in more ways than the obvious). Being helpful in her own way,
rafaela showed me how to get up there, and how safe it was.
Once I was up there, we had to scoot carefully, so as not to fall through the ceiling. That's of course when the dream shifted, and I don't remember anything after that.
So, guys, here ya go:
rafaela - You were blonde, short, and wearing an ankle-length floppy skirt with a denim jacket. I don't remember seeing your face.
slipjig - You were wearing brown pants, a short-sleeve shirt, and your hair was black (though I cannot remember if it was short or not - I'm inclined to say it was, though).
Back to the topic of work, I managed to get most of my list done. The one exception was also the most glaring: I never figured out why we were short last week. I spent an hour looking at reports and office count sheets, and could only conclude one thing: The money management in Accounting last week sucked monkey balls. The opener found $140 last Friday morning, but never put it in Sales & Cash (which she could have done to correct that report, which is the one that matters). By that night, the money was no where to be seen, and a checker was short, the office was short, and the opener's Guest Care till was over nearly $500.
The Saturday opener did a good job, I think, but things were so screwed up at that point, that it was like trying to patch the Titanic with a cotton ball. So, we wound up short again. I suspect one particular checker (not of stealing, but incompetance with her money), but I cannot prove it with the money like it was. I'm not going to mention her missing tender count...
I swung by Comic Cellar on my way home, and grabbed my new manga stuff: Rurouni Kenshin volume 6, and the first two volumes of Negima!, by Ken Akamatsu (he of Love Hina fame). I talked to Jason a bit, and wound up
buying some new dice. (The ones to look for on that link are in the bottom right corner... Scarlet w/gold Scarab.) I was tempted by quite a few of these. Since I already had the copper Leaf, I was tempted to get the silver Leaf, and the gold Leaf. I just got the one.
I got Lord Soth in my D&D Minis booster. It's one undead that Jartravian will NOT be getting from me. :)
I came home, and the headache I had had since trying to figure out those numbers intensified. I popped some Advil, and have been quiet. It hasn't really helped, though, so I cancelled on
andric for tonight, and will hang out tomorrow. This is possible because the host of Stephen's game cancelled the game. Steve's ready to play, but we have no where to game. *sigh*
Oh well, perhaps next week. I might just have to make a character to fit these red dice. The color pattern is highly reminiscent of the 49ers team colors, and - in honor of Rick, wherever he may be - I am tempted to use those only for a bloodthirsty-greataxe-swinging-ale-swilling-hack-'em-up-and-let-Pelor-sort-'em-out barbarian. But then again, I don't like dying on the first day, and I DO tend to be cautious when playing.. Hmm.. Maybe I can make an exception. :)
