I made it through another day at work. I swear, it's getting harder and harder. We have no help, and we can't get anyone to come in anymore. We're just screwed. *sigh* I am going to have to figure out what I want to do, because I realize now that Kroger is headed for oblivion. My only issue about this is the ten years of work I've put in, and the pension I'm entitled to now. It'd really suck if they tanked, and took my pension iwth them. (Can you imagine it? The next big scandal... After Enron. After MCI/Worldcom... It's Kroger/Fred Smith's. Heehee...)

I swung by Best Buy on my way home, and got The Neverending Story on DVD. I loved that movie as a kid. I had a crush on the Empress, who was around my age or a little older at the time. I mean, I was just downright saddened that the movie was over. I think I played out scenarios in my head for days, if not weeks, where I showed up to help them, instead of Bastian. :)  (I just checked, and that's the only role she ever had, though she is still involved with the business. Hmm, she is just shy of two months younger than my friend Kevin. Neat.)

So, I plan to watch that movie (the whole hour and a half!), put away the minis I got today (nothing notable except an Orc Champion, though I still have an unopened Drizzt I will gleefully let go of for some 3-6 Githyanki, or something equally cool.), read some online about some personal research I'm doing, and eat dinner. I guess I'll update more later.

After I settled down to watch my movie, I heard from Charles. He was looking for Aron, who knows about installing carpet. Well, during our conversation, he invitied me to go with him and Melissa to look at a house that they were thinking of buying. Well, that house sucked (too much money + too many fix-it jobs = not a good deal)

We looked at another house nearby. This house was awesome. Beautiful backyard. Full appliances. VERY well kept. I fell in love with it. If not for the fact that I cannot afford it, I would place a bid on it myself. :) Really.

Afterward, we looked at one other house, and it didn't even compare, even though it was nice on its own.

Finally, we went to Applebee's, had lackluster service but a good dinner, and I came home. I'll see them tomorrow, when we get together to game. By then, they'll have placed a bid on the awesome house. I'm wishing them all the luck in the world. :)

Now, to finish that movie...
