So, I've been up since around 1030am or so. I forget exactly when I woke. Regardless, I've spent my time today creating a spreadsheet for use in Shadowrun that will let you select your priorities, and then autofill in what information it can. If you type your attributes in, there's a field that keeps track of how many points you have left, and it computes your various dice pools for you. I've had to learn about ActiveX Combo Boxes in Excel to get the priority system to work, but I like what I've done so far.

Yesterday, we met at Brad's to creature characters for a Shadowrun game that he's doing. I didn't get there until after 3pm, mainly because I was held at work until 2pm. We were missing some folks. Sheesh.

Anyway, Jason's gonna be a combat decker, and Scott is going to play a street samurai. I am going to do an adept. I think it'll be fun, personally, but I want to make sure I selected the optimum choices for my character.* That's why I'm building this in the first place. That way, I can always go back and do another one anytime I want. The neatest thing about this is it lets me, at a glance, see what the different races would be capable of based on how I assign stats. (Example: If I give my Human a 6 STR, I can quickly see how every other race would come out in the STR department.)

Now, though, I am going to stop. I am going to go to Kroger, and - on my off day - clean our accounting room out as much as possible, so that I don't have to listen to my manager make any more complaints about it. That, and I would like a clean working environment, too.

Thanks to all who responded to me over the weekend. You guys rock. I'll reply to your comments when I get back from Kroger.

If that doesn't beat all. I'm embarrassed and annoyed and stressed and frustrated all at once. I was getting ready to go to Kroger, and decided to see how my balance was first. I was hoping to see my income tax refund. What'd I find? That my savings is empty, and I cannot withdraw anything from my checking.

Apparently, after much worrying, stress, and frustration, I learned that it seems that the check for my car note, which I paid the day my money went into my bank account, technically hit BEFORE the deposit did. Thus, I overdrew. I lost what was in savings, and they had to "loan" me $4.14. Now, it didn't overdraft by much, and all my stuff since has gone through fine. I just can't remove anything else. At least, I'm assuming, not until everything clears. (I'm about to call and find that out.)

This, you see is what I get for paying my car note a week early, in my attempt to be more responsible with my bills. I had only *ONE* thing not listed in my register: a $5 purchase I made a couple of weeks ago. *sigh* I hate this.

EDIT: Isn't this cute?! Apparently, when I paid for my tuxedo for Charles' wedding, the tux shop managed to charge my card twice, though it's not technically "double-charged", yet. See, they reserved the funds twice, and one has cleared, but I'm SOL until the other reservation disappears. It's due to come off tomorrow, and I have to call the bank back if I get charged. Meanwhile, I'm screwed.

F$#K!

Here again, I sit and ponder the end of my day off. I am particularly thankful that my vacation is less than three weeks away. A week off from work, and away from home, will be most welcome. I just have to decide what I'm taking over to Charles' place to keep myself occupied. :)

Since I don't have access to any funds until tomorrow at the earliest (*crosses fingers*), I didn't go to clean out Accounting. I know how much gasoline I have in my car, and I cannot afford to "waste" any of it. *sigh* I was looking forward to cleaning the place up, too.

Instead, I got that spreadsheet as done as I can at the moment, without coming up with some completely new tricks. I think learning how ActiveX controls work in Excel is enough for anybody for one day, right?

I have an adept created for the Sunday game, but I just had an epiphany, and put together a Dwarf Mage. I cannot call him a "Combat Mage", since only two spells technically hurt things, but the Confusion and Heal will come in handy, too. I think that I'm going to be making quite a few characters this week. (I have already seen how, for the reasonable price of 540,000¥, I can add enough bioware to a street samurai to give him a 4d6+11 initiative, and that's on bioware alone. :)

Well, I work tomorrow. Joyce said that Jennifer is supposed to be working, so I should have time to work on the back. I'll believe it when I see it. Mr. Lindley is going to pull someone, and I'm going to have to cover Guest Care or UScan. Wait and see. (Yes, this will be despite the fact that he wants Accounting cleaned. Sometimes, you just can't win with that man.)

And yes, I think watching Neverwhere on Saturday has put me back in a Tori Amos kick. This time, though, I'm getting into the albums of hers that I never quite did before: Boys for Pele, from the choirgirl hotel, and To Venus And Back. I already swear by Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink.
