I must say, I'm terribly glad that my attitude seems to be improving. I haven't gotten defensive with anyone at work this week. At least, not when it wasn't called for.
Today, I didn't get a lunch. However, that's cool. You see, I was finally doing the "project" that I was assigned more than three months ago by my CSM. She wanted me to throw out all of the old envelopes and coupon bags that we give out to checkers at the beginning of their shifts, and replace them entirely. (
whome_cx and
rockcandy76 might know what I'm talking about.) Anyway, I had time today, so I went to Office Depot, and picked up 35 plastic pencil pouches. These, with the aid of a Sharpie marker, became our coupon bags.
While I was there, the nerd in me was looking for something *I* wanted: tape-like tabs that you put on books and such to mark pages. I used some when I ran my last campaign, and I found that they were invaluable in their usefulness. I also found something that almost made me cry: A map of the night sky. Beautiful. Snagging those and the pouches, I hurried back to work.
I spent the next three hours fixing up the bags, envelopes, and hanging files for all the checkers in the store, including the sometimes checkers (folks who don't usually check, but know how in case of emergencies). I did my count, and headed home.
Swinging by Comic Cellar, I got my stuff. I also found Neil Gaiman's and Charles Vess' "Stardust" comic mini-series, so I got it too. This is a comic version of one of my favorite Gaiman novels, and, from what I've seen, the precursor to it as well. I was dismayed when I found that I was missing issue 4. I'll have to talk to Jason about that. I need a complete set.
I've done my e-mail to
lordreaibn about Aric today as well. All that I have left to do is make dinner and work on my campaign idea, which seems to have stalled while I mull over a major detail. (This detail could change the campaign drastically from what I've done so far with it, but it could be a "good" change. I want to make sure that the campaign is intriguing to my players, even moreso than Silverymoon.)
And now for something completely different...
The CDs in my player right now: Helloween - The Best, The Rest, The Rare (Work) and Battlelore - Sword's Song (Car). I have been playing an mp3 playlist for bedtime at home that includes Blackmore's Night and Mythos.
