Well, I woke up yesterday around 8am. Realizing that I only had about 4 hours before I had to get ready to take Aron and pick up Shana to go see X2, I did what any sensible gamer would do: I began playing Diablo II and Morrowind. Obviously, not at once. I got immersed in Morrowind, because when I looked up, it was 1210pm. Crap!
Fortunately, we made it to the movie on time, and settled in. The theatre got dark, and the film began rolling. What did we see? COMMERCIALS! ADVERTISEMENTS! WTF?! I believe my brother said it best when he made the comment, "If I wanted to watch commercials, I could have stayed home and watched TV." Preach on! That's so bloody stupid it hurts my head to think about it. I mean, I remember being 5 years old, and they would play CARTOONS before the movie; Now, you get commercials. Shit.
X2 was awesome. I would say it was easily better than the first, and I really liked the first one. One of the things I really liked about X2 was ( Click here for spoilers. ) Over all, I would give X2 an 8,5-9. Bravo to the director for making such a wonderful comic adaptation. (For reference, X-Men would have gotten a 7.5-8, had I a livejournal then.)
As someone I saw in one of my friends' list said, I got started on X-men back in the days of the Blue Team/Gold Team. They had two titles, and one was for each team. I personally loved both books, but the Blue team had one of the best rivalries going: Gambit vs. Bishop. There were two characters who totally kicked butt. I liked the gold team, since I quickly decided that Storm was one of my favorite characters, and Archangel was so tormented, but Blue team I guess pulled just a bit further forward. Besides, Blue team had Jubilee.
Anyway, I liked it, and that's what matters (to me). When they do the next movie, I hope to see Gambit, Bishop, or Jubilee. I know she's been in it so far, but I want her to have more of a role. I want them to include more mutants. I would like to see more bad guys, too. I like Magneto and Mystique at this point way too much to want to see them as villains.
