RPG: Silver Marches, Session #21, 03/10/03

Wow. Yesterday was a LOT of fun. We ran from around 5pm or so, broke for about an hour for dinner, and played until 1am. The group fought quite a few monsters. Most of the monsters came to them, since they were trying to hole up in a room to rest. They held their own quite well. It got tense though, when Titus decided to cast a fireball at an orcish cleric that was at the end of a secret hallway. He warned everyone, which surprised me a bit. As everyone ran for cover, he let it loose. The resulting conflagration quickly spread down the passageway in both directions, out into the room they were in (at one end of the passage), and into an archer gallery to which the passage was connected.

It's Magic..

Well, I got a bunch of older Magic cards from my brother for $20, so I have some staples to use now, like Counterspell, Incinerate, and Mesa Pegasus. I've got to get another box, because my cards won't fit into the one I bought less than a week ago.

I played against Rick in some Magic today. He kicked my butt. I had no way of dealing with the fact that he has direct damage. Red decks can mutilate quickly. Aron then played him with his Hand/Land destruction deck. It was close, but Rick kept complaining about not having mana. (In other words, he was whining about the land/hand destruction deck, even though he played a direct damage deck first, and then a slight/hack deck with Northern Paladins and Karmas after that.) Aron got rather pissed about that, so he's probably done with Magic over all. I'll have to see if he'll sell his other cards to me. But later, I don't want to piss him off more.

I tried making a deck, but I couldn't make things come together. The five-color deck I bought the other day seems really playable, though. I might keep it together, just so I *KNOW* I have something to play.

Oh yeah, jartravian, I'm mixing all my cards together. Unless you want to restrict yourself to just your new stuff, I see no reason why you can't use your older stuff. I'm going to try to use whatever I can. (Reasonably, of course.)
