Friiday was significant, because I was finally able to add someone to my "LJ friend met in real life" list. After work, I met [livejournal.com profile] jartravian at Comic Cellar to sell him some comics I no longer needed. Nice guy. Very familiar with games, Robert Jordan, and comic books. Of course, I can't think of who he looks like. (I want to say the glasses remind my VERY VAGUELY of Scott Bailiey, from RoadRunner E-mail.1

Oh yeah, Jason said that as long as we made the deal outside of the store, then there was nothing wrong with finishing it inside. He said, "I don't mind you using here as a meeting place." So there ya go.

Stephen made it over last night, and we went to Scott's to game Wheel of Time. On the way, we stopped at the Wendy's on Highland, just south of Southern. We all placed our orders, and were very polite to the staff, who repeated our orders back to us, yet our (read: My) orders were screwed up. I asked for cheese and ketchup, and got mayo, tomato, and lettuce. I don't mind lettuce, but I hate tomato. How'd I deal with this? Well, since we were running late, I threw the lettuce, tomato, and the napkin I wiped my hands clean with on the parking lot outside the restaurant. Not the nicest way to deal with things, but I am almost always polite and considerate, and I'd had enough. Put another way: Sometimes, ya just gotta be an asshole.

We began gaming, and I was having a difficult time concentrating on the game. I knew I should have done some preparation, but SIlver Marches kept me occupied. Also, I did have an idea in mind, but I think I began the game on the wrong foot, which dashed those ideas on the rocks. To top it off, things fell apart when Stephen reacted badly to the idea of a myrddraal. I know they are scary in the books, but this is a game, and you're supposed to fight them. Oh well, I've said what I have to say about that.

Wheel of Time - Great book series. Good RPG. Needs knowledgeable players to fully be able to implement it. Probably needs a GM who plans things, too. (I'm going to read some WoT RPG message boards, and see what other people do for their games, and what kind of games they run.)

Today, I've done nothing. I washed my clothes, and put up my comic book collection. Four longboxes is too much to have sitting in the bedroom floor. When I was at Comic Cellar yesterday, I grabbed one of the shortboxes. I'm going to keep my current stuff in that, and go up in the attic quarterly to file those into the main collection. Seems easier, at least in the short term.

I have work tomorrow 4a-12p, so I need to get some rest if I'm going to be up to running a Silver Marches game.

1 - Ask Stephen about him, Jason. And, as I said, VERY VAGUE.
