Well, I havne't been around all weekend. Funny. Sorry I've been unavailable. After my last post, I just never quite got around to making a post. Perhaps I just didn't have anything to write about. Hmm.. I'll have to think about that one. Later, though. For now, I talk. :)
Friday, my brother called and cancelled the game, citing irreconcilable fatigue. He apparently went to sleep at 530 that night, and slept, except for a couple of hours around the witching hour, until 930 the next morning. Man, was he sick and tired, or what? :)
So, anyway, Thomas came over and he, Stephen, and I loaded up the table and chairs into Tom's truck. We just had to transport them to south Memphis to Scott's house. Thankfully, it is a house, so we don't have to worry about being noisy. It is a little messy, but who am I to judge? :) We got there about an hour and a half after we left my house, mainly because Tom had to take some medicine for his stomach. It was kinda fun. I told Scott he could have Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, if he let me watch the Dokken video at the end of it. Oh, wow. I love Dokken. I still have a copy of Back for the Attack, but man, did that video stink! Hahaha! I felt just a little bit embarrassed that I wanted to see it so badly. Oh well, such is youth, and nostalgia IS a liar. :)
It was bound to happen, but Stephen and I got hungry. Not eating for a good part of the day will do that, I've found.
(Pause while Anthony eats Chicken Fettucini Alfredo and watches a Buffy episode on FX.)
So, Stephen and I went to Applebee's. No one else wanted to go, but they were more than willing to eat week-old pizza out of the fridge. *shiver* I didn't understand the attraction. Applebee's was a blast, and Stephen talked me into being the tormented soul for the D&D game that he will be running in a couple of months. I'd share the details in this post, but I'd have to kill you to keep it quiet. :) (Or not. That info is for another post.)
Saturday, I hung out with my friend, and she gave me these AMAZING candleholders. They are about 8 inches tall, and have Japanese characters in the sides. Frosted glass behind the characters diffuses the light. Man, it is very relaxing to sit and watch those burn. We ate pizza, and played the 20th anniversairy edition of Trivial Pursuit. It's a darn shame I know so little about a period of time I've been alive for. :)
Sunday, I cancelled my game. Stephen had a concert to go to, and Rick's dad was in town. So, I used the afternoon to just relax. Of course, my creativity started going, and I was able to come up with a considerable amount of info for the Silver Marches game. For those playing along at home, the Shadow Chasers game has been canned. We're going to pick back up with the Silver Marches game next Sunday. I just needed time to collect my thoughts on the game. Even though we haven't been playing, I've had my time. So, *shrug* we're going back to what I know. :) Next time I want 3-4 weeks off, someone else can run a game for that time. Or, we'll just take another hiatus. This has been really helpful.
Work on Monday was pretty low-stress. I figured out a couple of details that seemed like epiphanies to me, even though I should have already known them. You have to love yourself before you can honestly expect to be in a relationship. Seems simple, but is it really surprising that it is the simple things that eludes me?
My friend (candleholder girl) has gotten me addicted to beef jerky. Not Slim Jims, but beef jerky. Lots of chewing, 4g of fat and 320 calories PER PACKAGE. The chewing is the part I've always enjoyed anyway. This should help things.
Well, this post has rambled on with no direction for long enough. I hope everyone has a good night. I will post more later. :) For now, I have more Campaign Setting stuff to write.
